Again, History Repeats Itself, Again

Amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch McConnell

Guys, the Republicans and amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch are doing it again:

Republicans are making plans to torpedo some of President-elect Biden’s prospective Cabinet, agency and judicial nominees if the GOP keeps its majority, aides involved in the discussions tell me.

What we’re hearing: Top targets include political names and civil servants who spoke out loudest against President Trump, forced out his appointees or became stars in the impeachment hearings — like Sally Yates and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman — as well as longtime targets of conservative media, like Susan Rice.

  • Targets also include more obscure potential nominees for federal judgeships, solicitor general and the Supreme Court. Republicans worry these nominees could blunt conservative moves on deregulation or social policy.

Just like the Obama years.

At least in DOJ, hire ’em all to run special prosecutor teams to investigate the fuck out of Yertle and all his corrupt buddies.

If I remember correctly, there’s a provision in the Constitution that allows a president to essentially force Congress to adjourn (I forget the exact steps, but it has something to do with when the House and Senate disagree on something something gazpacho) for whatever period of time that the president deems necessary. He can then install anyone he pleases via recess appointment, thwarting Moscow Mitch’s plan to keep the Senate in session 24/7 to prevent this very thing (just like he did with Obama). Biden can be the nice guy and give them the chance to play ball, but if (excuse me, when) they don’t, he can put on his Ray-Bans, flash that smile, and pull this card out, thereby driving the hot poker in deep and hard… and the best part is, it’s completely constitutional, and there’s not a damn thing Yertle McTurtle can do about it.

Well, if GA Trumpeters boycott the runoff, that could lighten my text-banking load, I suppose… or at least make it more fulfilling when we win those!

Not going to happen. Trumpkins might threaten in order to hopefully receive such gifts like mini-nooses from a known bigot like Perdue, but they always come home and vote against their own interests. The thought of having actual representation in DC whereby their representatives present legislation that will help them and ‘those people’ scares them to death. Better to continue wallowing in near abject poverty to see who can pull themselves up by their ‘bootstraps.’ FFS

Even raising Rice is a non-starter. Vindman and Sally Yates, no so much. They can still be hired. Biden needs to go in with guns blazing in a PR campaign at the first sign of this bullshit. And I agree with Anti-science on the need for criminal investigations.

Also, if Mitch refuses to put their names to the whole Senate, say the mofo waived the right.

    Let’s hope we sweep Georgia.

A power bottom who shares ‘rent boys’ with ms. graham and will only leave the antiquated senate upon his death…

      • Redhand says:

My sense is that there’s more than one rent bhoy out there. (Understatement!) I do get queasy about someone being outed, but to the extent that behavior is a subject of blackmail, or distorts his ‘judgment” on govt. matters, it’s “a concern.” The same way it would if Ms. Lindsey were actually a heterosexual whoremaster, and didn’t want this to get out.

Why are we even having to discuss this level of conduct involving high gov’t figures? Cf., LDN’s “Elect Roy Moore!” not to mention LDM paying off Stormy and committing an electoral felony hiding the payoff.

I can imagine Lyndon Johnson inviting Moscow Mitch to a private lunch, mention the shit his inlaws have been doing, and how terrible it would be to have to indict his wife.
