The Terrible Sand Kingdom of Arizonastan Done Trump Wrong!!1!

The terrible sand people of the terrible sand kingdom of Arizonastan.

You wanna know why Lord Damp Nut lost Arizonastan? DEEP STATE AND SHARPIES!!1!

The WaPo investigates!

Trump allies on Wednesday fanned false claims that GOP votes in Arizona are being rejected over the use of Sharpies, as the president continues to question the integrity of the election. Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said it was “absolutely not the case” that voting with a Sharpie somehow nullified a vote. “Poll workers are not going to give voters pens that are going to invalidate their ballot,” Hobbs, a Democrat, told KTAR News Wednesday. “And people who are voting from home use Sharpies all the time.”

Ballots in Maricopa County were arranged so that if a Sharpie did bleed through the page, it wouldn’t cause an unreadable mark on the other side, Hobbs said. She also emphasized that the state had a clear-cut adjudication process for counting ballots that could not be read by tabulators…. But conservatives sowed new confusion over their use Wednesday on Twitter as ballot counting continued in the state. “Apparently the use of Sharpie pens in GOP precincts is causing ballots to be invalidated,” tweeted Matt Schlapp, who heads the American Conservative Union. “Could be huge numbers of mostly Trump supporters.”

I’m guessing that the true Republican probably took their Trump Sharpie that they bought on the Trump Store from the Trump Campaign to vote, and those bastard Arizona Libtards something-something-something ELECTION FRAUD!!1!

Also, Arizonastan getting called for Handsome Joe Biden so early was a clear act of sabotage by [checks notes] Fox News!!1!

“That mirage of victory was pierced when Fox News called Arizona for former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. at 11:20 p.m., with just 73 percent of the state’s vote counted. Mr. Trump and his advisers erupted at the news. If it was true that Arizona was lost, it would call into doubt on any claim of victory the president might be able to make.

“What ensued for Mr. Trump was a night of angry calls to Republican governors and advice from campaign aides that he ignored, leading to a middle-of-the-night presidential briefing in which he made a reckless and unsubstantiated string of remarks about the democratic process. Standing in the East Room at 2:30 a.m., he dismissed the election as a ‘fraud’ and claimed he wanted to stop the counting of votes and leave the results to the Supreme Court. … Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, was also in touch with Rupert Murdoch, the Fox News owner, as the night wore on. And on Wednesday morning, Mr. Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stepien, insisted the president would win Arizona by 30,000 votes. …

“Mr. Kushner was making calls, looking for what he described as a ‘James Baker-like’ figure who could lead the legal effort to dispute the tabulations in different states, according to a person briefed on the discussions. (Mr. Baker led George W. Bush’s successful recount case in 2000.)”

Wait. Jared-the-Jenius didn’t have legal counsel already? Bwah-ha-ha, who are these mooks?

Using a Sharpie doesn’t invalidate your vote, but it will bring a hurricane to you state. Better go out and buy some plywood Arizona!

    • Promise? I remember we were supposed to have Taco trucks on every corner, too. We’re in a historic drought…I’m having to water my cactus to keep it from dying. Our summer rainy season generally gives is ½ our rain annual, and we had ONE (1) storm this summer. It was HUGE, dropped a couple inches on us…but…that…was…all…we…got.

So I’ll take a hurricane! Even two!

Sharpies can and will fonk up a tabulator.

The bleed-through is read on both sides and will generate a “spurious marks” error and … cause the ballot to be refused. If the voter fed it into the tabulator they would grab an election official and after a serious ritual would invalidate that ballot and give the voter a new ballot (all this is documented). If a poll worker fed the ballot in, same thing happens except 2 poll workers remake the ballot.

Due the this extra work NO election official would purposely hand out Sharpies. However during the pandemic voters often bring in their own pen and officials are always on the look out for the dreaded Sharpie (or gel pen).

Also, too, gel pens can foul a tabulator. Use a damn blue or black ball point!

I used a gel pen on my mail-in ballot and then noticed the bleed-through. I took the ballot with me to an early-voting site to ask if it would be a problem. The poll workers I asked weren’t certain, so to be safe, I voted there. FL lets you surrender your mail-in ballot to vote in person.
I still don’t know whether it would have been a problem. The bleed-through marks weren’t near where there were other actual voting marks, so the software COULD be programmed to ignore them, but who knows?
