The Yutes Are Revolting!

I’m mixing all of my 30-year old pop culture references in that headline, but it is good news:

Young voters in swing states are a big part of the early surge. That could boost Biden.

Younger Americans are voting early in droves this cycle, far outpacing their pre-Election Day turnout in several key swing states at this time in 2016.

So far, voters ages 18 to 29 have cast more than 6 million early votes, according to data from NBC News Decision Desk/Target Smart, a Democratic political data firm. Four years ago at the same time, the number was about 2 million.

The increase is visible in states such as Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Floridaand North Carolina — swing states that saw substantial early voting last time around.

In each state, more than twice the number of young Americans have already voted in the election when compared with 2016.

The Olds (that would be us; I think Xers are now on the long, downward slide) have served the kids nothing but merde sandwiches and they have had enough. Read the article, click the links, it is nothing but good news.

Also, too, anecdotal evidence: there are 74 poll workers assigned to my ward (Fightin’ 65th!). 61% are 1st timers and 11% are high school students. Let’s hear it for the Yutes!

Our old pal Josh Bernstein has been demanding raising the voting age for a while; he also wants people to be property owners and/or taxpayers in order to vote.
