Regular readers and good Scissorheads know that MPS doesn’t give two merdes about horse-race journalism. I don’t care who is in the lead comin’ round the money bend, but I couldn’t help but smile at the news:
South Carolina Senate candidate Jaime Harrison’s campaign announced Sunday it raised $57 million in the third quarter of 2020, shattering the quarterly fundraising record for a Senate race set by Beto O’Rourke in 2018 by almost $20 million.
Why it matters: Harrison’s massive fundraising hauls have fueled his run to unseat Sen. Lindsey Graham, a close ally of President Trump who is now facing the most competitive re-election race of his career. The outcome of the South Carolina contest could be pivotal in determining control of the Senate.
Now, admittedly I know that people outside
the hotbed of seething, unbridled lust the state of South Carolina have been donating to Jaime Harrison’s campaign (heck, I donated), so it’s not really indicative of enthusiasm for Harrison, but it is indicative of the national repulsion of Senatorette Lady G.
Oh, and speaking of this race their debate has been cancelled as Lady G would not get a Trump-Virus Test. The speculation is that if the Senatorette was positive, then he would have to quarantine for 2 weeks, and that would be the end of the kabuki theater confirmation hearings for would-be Justice Coathangers.
