Very Fine People, Cont.

I don’t like amplifying domestic terrorists (Wolverines!), but these White Nationalist doofuses, who used Facebook to organize, naturally, their attempted kidnapping of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, have such interesting friends:

Got that? –

“Are they trying to kidnap? Because a lot of people are angry with the governor, and they want her arrested. So are they trying to arrest or was it a kidnap attempt? Because you can still in Michigan if it’s a felony, make a felony arrest.”

Another friend:

Several Scissorheads have sent pictures of the assorted co-conspirators (often with amusing Master Race annotations), which I won’t put on MPS, but I will say this: if you find the mugshots (which is easy enough), you will marvel that between all of ’em, there is probably not an entire set of matching chromosomes. Master Race, indeed.

Felony? What felony, making LDN cry? Felony ungrateful-ness? Felony female but not subservient?
These dudes were plotting to overthrow the government by kidnapping the governor, defending themselves against police with molotov cocktails and then trying her for treason – Confession and projection. – and this cop says they might have been applying the state’s citizen arrest statutes.
Those statutes appear to state that this is only allowed if the person arrested is actually a felon, and it ain’t treason to enact public safety rules in anything I’ve read. Nor does that statute mention anything about inventing your own court. This sheriff claims he didn’t have time to read about the case, that’s gonna be his excuse.

    • 2000 quatloos that he turns out to be one of those CoNsTiTuTiOnAl SheRiFf types who think that because of King John the county sheriff is ” ectully the highest-ranking law ossifer in the country.”

(seriously, the Sheriff of Nottingham is the real model for the soverign citizen whackaloons’ fantasies about their local county mounties being the highest in the land…)

Said all of that- on the record. Just- wow. I love it when people tell you who they really are. It sure makes the “who you going to vote fore” question easier.

Oh, there’s matching chromosomes. From their sisters, cousins, parents …

According to LDN, there are good people on both sides. These men are the good people on their side. And they’re as good as it gets.

I thought the plural of doofus was doofi. Kinda like the plural of octopus is octopi. Not to quible, I think the doofi or doofuses are looking at extended prison time. Kinda hard to claim innocence when you’re recorded spewing your vile harebrained grievances. If this was the Caine Mutiny then the good ship lollipop would be lost…

The plural of octopus is octopuses. The word octopus is not Latin, it is Greek, so it pluralizes with the added “es”.
I don’t know the etymology of “doofus”, although my inclination is to call it slang, and therefore subject to whatever pluralization wins in the duke-out in the public sphere.

What’s the over-under on how many tweets before the MHSG first hints at the idea of a pardon for the Wolverine Watchmen. (The Watchmen all wear masks btw)
