What’s The Rush, Lindsey?

“I wanted thighs like pistons that could pump all night, not breasts.”

Axios gives us a hint of the mad dash that Senatorette Lady G is going to make to cram Justice Gilead onto the court:

Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Fox News Saturday he expects confirmation hearings on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court to start Oct. 12 and for his panel to approve her by Oct. 26.

Why it matters: That would mean the final confirmation vote could take place on the Senate floor before the Nov. 3 presidential election.

Methinks that the Republicans know that their end-time is near. Whatever damage they can inflict now on future generations is the plan.

Anway Vanity Fair throws some cold, refreshing water on us (emboldening mine):

Without any actionable battle plan, Democrats are focused on winning the messaging fight. Polling from CNN suggests they have a head start, with nearly six in 10 Americans indicating that they think the winner of November’s election should fill the open Supreme Court seat. In the days since Ginsburg passed, Democrats have zeroed in on a Supreme Court case over the Affordable Care Act, slated for mid-November, to make their argument. “This is at once really complicated and really simple. And it’s really simple because we took back the house in ’18 by talking about health care and talking about nothing other than health care,” a Democratic Senate aide told me. “This is really simple, America. The ACA is about to go away because of this. Don’t use the word jurisprudence. Don’t talk about precedent. No one gives a shit. People care about their health care.”

I’m sure that’s true. For me, theocracy is the more dire element of her nomination (and make no mistake, this Fundamentalist Justice would gladly overthrow the Constitution and replace it with the Bible), but health care is probably more universal and easily understood as an issue. All of that said, there is not a mathematical way to defeat her nomination.

Gird your loins, Scissorheads, and know this, too: every moment we spend on Justice Coathanger is a moment we do not spend on the Trump-Virus. All of Prznint Stupid’s polling shows that is THE ISSUE where he loses. Keep pounding on that.

Just give her the Schlafly, already. If she does make it onto the SCOTUS, make it a lifetime achievement in hypocrisy Schlafly award.

[Sigh] I’m so old, I remember when elections were decided at the ballot boxes, and not in the Courts. And the Dims remind me of a dog whose owner tends to kick him every time he walks by, so that the poor mutt has a reinforced reflex to shy away, and slink off to a corner somewhere, so it won’t be so noticeable. And kickable.

But I’ve seen it happen, once or twice – the dog gets fed up, and turns on its owner, delivering some vicious bites, in retaliation for being mistreated.

Before being put down, any way.

Graham’s in an unexpectedly tight re-election race in SC. He knows that if he fails to demonstrate maximal zeal in getting Hair Furor’s nominee confirmed, some number of Trumpanzees might not bother to vote for him, possibly dooming his chances. So he must do the maximum leader’s bidding as visibly as possible. The people who object to Barrett aren’t going to vote for him either way, so they don’t factor into his calculations.

Miss Lindsey should have been more careful before “blowing” all her money on DC sex workers, allegedly.
