Saying Goodbye To Notorious RBG

Thanks Trey*.

I found this strangely touching: her personal trainer of 20+ years mourned by doing push-ups with her one last time:

From the society pages at Tiger Beat:

— SPOTTED IN THE AUDIENCE AT THE CEREMONY: Joe and Jill Biden, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, many senators including Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer …

… Reps. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio), Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), Donna Shalala (D-Fla.), Susan Brooks (R-Ind.), Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) and Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.)…

NOTABLE: SCALISE was the only high-ranking Republican to attend the ceremony. Neither House Minority Leader KEVIN MCCARTHYnor Senate Majority Leader MITCH MCCONNELL were there.

That’s just incredibly disrespectful not just to Ginsburg’s family, but to all women: She is the first woman to be so honored as to lie in state. She is also the first Jew to be so honored, so the Republicans snubbing her is really on-brand when you think about it…

But maybe they had other things to do… like greasing up the rat for a good eff’ing?

“The Senate is taking America for one last turbulent ride before the election. … After Trump’s reveal, GOP leaders are expected to quickly lay out a hearing schedule for October, and the nominee will begin meeting with individual senators next week.”

“Provided no surprising information is unearthed that upends the nomination, Republicans and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are set to make history: Never has a Supreme Court justice been confirmed so close to a presidential election. Other than two dissenting GOP senators, no one thus far in the 53-member conference is arguing to wait for a lame duck session — let alone the next Congress — to hold a confirmation vote. McConnell only needs a simple majority.”

…because they believe that eff’ing that particular rat will give them an advantage:

“In order to achieve a new 6-3 conservative majority on the court, Republicans are poised to defy a clear majority of voters who have indicated in polls that they want the winner of the election to pick a nominee for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat. They are even willing to energize Democratic turnout in the short run by elevating issues like abortion, if it means achieving the long-term goal of tilting the court further to the right.”

“They believe a partisan fight over the court offers them at least a chance to steer the debate away from political danger zones like the president’s handling of a virus that has claimed over 200,000 American lives and his unceasing rhetorical eruptions, most recently his indication that he would be unwilling to agree to a peaceful transition of power.”

I suspect that they have misread Wee the People.

I cry every time I watch the video of Bryant Johnson doing push-ups one last time, with Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

These are such hard times, I’m on the verge of, and running tears every day.

McConnell is a coward and he probably saw Trump being booed yesterday. So he chose to disrespect a human being who towered over him in intellect, morals, and dignity. He looks like a shitty, petty little troll and I wish he was capable of feeling shame.

And sadly, he’ll probably win in November. His idiotic state will bring him back, even though he has sold them out and left them broke, without medical coverage and with a broken school system. It’s too bad they’re too stupid to see that.

McConnell wasn’t fit to be in Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s company. I’m glad he stayed home.
