Know that all too well, but with Chipmunks….

  2. LOL! Many years ago we went on a road trip and visited Balboa Park in San Diego. One of our dogs, Cicely was an enormously strong and determined critter, and some part sighthound by behavior. (we are fairly certain that she was part Rhodesian Ridgeback, who are famous for their running speed)

We were walking around after getting out of the car, the dogs had their noses to the ground and….

That was ~180 pounds of me in that picture, except my arm was lucky to be still attached to my body.

She actually dragged me about 3 feet. I’m really glad we had her in a harness, she’s have either broken a collar like paper or snapped her neck.

My canine boss, Benny, is a mid-size puggle who looks like a beagle with added muscularity from the pug side. He’s done that to me multiple times; a couple of times from alarm, other times ftom sudden Sightings. We have a fair amount of woodsiness around our place, and I don’t always know what he’s Seen. Or Smelled or Heard. He has many dog superpowers.

This is how I ended up with a broken arm and never being allowed to walk the dog again.

Been there, done that. A big dog on each wrist, me in worn sandals and a pair of shorts, and they saw a cat. I flip-flopped behind then for a bit and then my sandal strap broke and they pulled me over my feet and face down. Not a good day.
