Trump in Puerto Rico: The quicker fucker-upper

Three years and an up-coming election later:

Trump administration announces $13 billion in additional aid to Puerto Rico

The Trump administration on Friday announced $13 billion in additional aid to Puerto Rico to help with rebuilding in the aftermath of 2017’s Hurricane Maria…

In the three years since the storm made landfall, the rebuilding process has been slow and costly. In November 2018, White House officials told congressional leaders and appropriators that the President did not want any additional relief funding sent to the island.

I guess the deal to swap it for Greenland is off the table, huh?

  1. Lemme see if I have this straight: he wants the Puerto Ricans who were forced to leave their homes and move to a different state to vote for him, and his inducement is to finally do the thing he should have done in the first place?

That is SO on-message for the campaign that called itself The Death Star and touted Russian soldiers and aircraft as evidence of their support for [checks notes] American troops and veterans…

Would this qualify as “closing the barn doors after the horses have already been sent to the glue factory”?

Waitaminnit – is this the same $13 beelyun Ameros that was promised to them 3 years ago, but then held back by Hair Füror until now? And did we ever discern who was able to sneak off with oodles of cash boodles before being caught and demoted, but not arrested or imprisoned? Is there an IG appointed to look out for the Best Interests of the Poorz who still live there, with NO running water, NO electricity yet, and no solid plans for reconstruction? Who only have tarps for shelter, and not even very many of those, since hurricane winds are known for making short shift of them?

Thousands are reported as living completely exposed to the Elements, and although the climate is pleasant enough to do so without serious discomfort, I’ve always enjoyed a roof over my head, even if it’s just “a little grass shack with a thatched roof overhead,” on the nicest day in paradise.

Trump is shameless in his obvious bid for votes, which is hilarious because he’s never remembered that Puerto Ricans are American citizens. Gawd, the blatant pandering!
