Bill Barr Blows

Strategic hire AG Bill ‘low’ Barr told federal prosecutors to consider charging Seattle protesters with plotting to overthrow the government:

CNN reported earlier Wednesday that Barr had expressed frustration with some local and state prosecutors’ handling of riot-related crimes, telling top Justice Department prosecutors that he wants them to be aggressive in bringing charges related to protest violence, including exploring using a rarely used sedition law, according to a person familiar with the matter.
It’s a theme that has gained traction in conservative media, which Barr follows closely, and he is known to focus on the issue from time to time.
Still, some federal prosecutors were taken aback last week when the attorney general brought up the possibility of charging violent protesters with sedition, which is conspiring to overthrow the US government.

So a few blocks in my Seattle neighborhood —with no Federal buildings of any kind—  is apparently the Federal gubmint. Who knew?!

But wait! It gets better! Barr wants to charge the Mayor, too, because… uh, REASONS!!1!

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan on Wednesday said a report that Attorney General William Barr suggested prosecutors consider filing charges against her is “chilling and the latest abuse of power from the Trump administration.”

Barr, The New York Times reported, asked prosecutors in the Justice Department’s civil rights division to investigate if they could charge Durkan as a result of protests this summer, when some protesters established a police-free zone in downtown Seattle.

Totally normal in the 4th Reich.

And as long as we’re speaking of Bill ‘low’ Barr… CBS News reports:

Attorney General Bill Barr said that, other than slavery, the lock down and stay-at-home orders to combat the coronavirus are the “greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history.”

I’m sure that Black Americans are going to feel comforted that Bill Barr understands their pain. I’m as lily white as you can get, and I found this insulting.

He also accused several federal prosecutors of having an “anti-tRump agenda,” whatever that is, and he defended his actions as being “unquestionable and unobjectionable,” as his role as AG allows him plenty of leeway in how he “dispenses Justice,” while granting him (and his boss) Ultimate Authority.

In other words, HIS words contain the Weight of the Law, no matter what, and MUST be obeyed without hesitation, and he expects them to do exactly as he orders them, “Or they’ll be looking for new employment.”

Not even within a Tai Wan Do punch to the knackers from George Takei’s youngest great-niece. Bullies wish only to inflict pain but scuttle quickly away from the possibility of receiving same.

Bill Barr does not care that his boss’s job is up for grabs in less than two months. Or, he knows something about the election we don’t. One of those.

Rep. Don Beyer, N. VA, is on the “impeach the mother-fucker” beat.

    Rep. Don Beyer @RepDonBeyer
Accusing political opponents of “sedition” then morphing into an arch libertarian when Trump cronies are indicted. Attacking career prosecutors for doing their jobs.

AG Barr is a menace to the rule of law—I’m cosponsoring legislation to begin impeachment proceedings against him.

    Good luck!
