Trump Supports Russia’s Troops! (Suckers and Losers, Part Infinity)

So this happened:

A digital ad released by a fundraising arm of the Trump campaign on Sept. 11 calling on people to “support our troops” uses a stock photo of Russian-made fighter jets and weapons.

The ad, which was made by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, features silhouettes of three soldiers walking as a fighter jet flies over them. The ad first appeared on Sept. 8 and ran until Sept. 12.

Support Our Russian Troops

But wait! It gets better:

Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow, confirmed that the planes are Russian MiG-29s, and also said the soldier on the far right in the ad carries an AK-74 assault rifle.

Just more ways in which The Russian Usurper is the real patriot in the election. You know, if it were in Russia.

This would take a rather high amount of error to swallow as an ordinary mistake made by an advertising agency illustrator, First, to skip over all the images of American fighter jets to pick a Russian MG-29, even if the illustrator knows nothing of the topic and is sorting through stock footage, they are all labelled and must be identified for royalties to the owner. Then, too, he must find someone carrying an AK-74–not the AK-47s beloved and carried by conservative NRA nutjobs almost everywhere–or else photoshop a AK-74 into the pictured soldier’s grasp.

“Objection your honor! Assumes competence on the part of the trump campaign that’s not in evidence. I would refer the court’s attention to this tweet:”

      • I particularly like Brad’s tweet about an hour later claiming that it was the media, not him that called it the ‘Death Star’. This was the level of awareness and competence at the very top of the campaign. What possibly makes you think that the brochure was created by an actual graphics professional instead of some MAGAt young republican intern googling ‘kool sojer pics, man!’ and grabbing random images off the internet….

      Dimitrios –

This was probably assembled by Twizzler who thought it looked cool. As you point out, this would not have gotten past an advertising agency.

That campaign operates in memes, they saw Twizzler’s work and said go for it.

And I’ll add some more speculation because: Why Not! – I bet it came down not because OOPS!, but because the copyright owner either demanded payment or that they take it down (or both).

That’s OK. Murka’s ‘well trained’ militias don’t care whose toys they play with. Just so long as they kill, Kill, KILL.
