Hair Füror ordered the Red Hats to gather at polling places in November and take it upon themselves to monitor the election.
This is a call for incitement:
Trump called on his supporters in North Carolina to act as poll watchers, to watch out for “thieving, and stealing and robbing” that he is warning without evidence will taint Election Day. He made his call at a packed rally in Winston-Salem where he and many of his fans made a mockery of the state’s mask mandate — as well as the advice of his own government amid a pandemic that has killed nearly 190,000 Americans and was exacerbated by his prioritizing politics over science.
It’s pretty clearly a call for his white followers to intimidate Democratic voters, and by that I mean Black Americans. It’s not really coded language.
Now, does this mean that Possum Hollar will go to the big city to intimidate the blahs or that they will drive menacingly around the block at Bubba’s Bait Shop and Fine Dining where the polling station is?
I don’t know if it’s a national law, but in NYS, there’s a ‘no politicking within 100 feet of a polling place’ law.
Hilariously, in 2016, I had to tell a gaggle of eight year old girls, including a coworker’s daughter, to move two feet further while they were chanting: “Hillary! Hillary!”
“Love the enthusiasm, girls, but rules are rules!”

There are similar rules everywhere I”ve lived.
Now you get to tell that to a buncha heavily armed white supremacists, because you KNOW they’re coming packing.
And since they’re the
White“Good” guys with the guns the cops will happily offer them snacks and water. This is old school GOP voter suppression; it’s how Reinquist got his start, after all.

In 5-6 years of being an election official in Wisconsin I have never seen a “poll watcher”. I do not remember seeing anything about them in our training either. So I looked it up (duckduckgo baby!).
Any member of the public may be an observer except for a candidate on the ballot; observers must be in a designated location and they have to sign a log maintained by an official at the polling place.
So they have to sign in and sit(?) in a designated place. Designated by, an election official, ME. Yay, past life as a bouncer and bartender. I would look forward to it, frankly. However, in blue bluer bluest Madison it would not be worth their time or energy.

I doubt there will be much call for goons at polling places in most of California. A lot of us will be using our mail by vote options. This tactic will be especially useless in Oregon and Washington state.
