You just can’t make this stuff up, can you? It is such a metaphor for the Trump era. They didn’t anticipate the size of the combined wakes of their boats and ended up swamping and capsizing each other! Jesus pass the whiskey, these people couldn’t vote twice even if they were told to.
A measure of selfishness, not unlike those jacked-up, de-engineered suburban assault vehicles out there on the roads rolling coal with tires the size of Volkswagons and the hood ornament a perfect rendition of the human female reproductive system.
Aaaannnnd……..the boats that sank were swamped in a normally-placid lake, under the weather conditions at the time. SWAMPED, by so many simultaneous wakes.
SWAMPED by their own wakes; I count at least 3 good puns in there.
(Can I say too bad nobody died? No? OK, then; I won’t say it. But we would have an excellent excuse to have a real wake. Or they would.)
And who’s considered responsible for the cleanup? Here in CA, the boat-owner isn’t required to carry insurance for a boat that’s out on the water, only when it’s being trailered, as part of the owner’s auto insurance, but if it sinks, or causes damage to another vessel, or to property, or injury to other people, and if it needs to be retrieved, or salvaged, and it’s caused environmental harm from leaking fossil fuels, battery acids, or other harmful chemicals, then the owner IS responsible for cleanup costs, including the assessments of how much damage was caused, including OT by F & G Wardens, County Sheriffs, County DA Investigators, and the list goes on and on.
Which is Empirical Evidence that proves the hypothesis that a boat is simply a hole in the water, made out of aluminum, fiberglass, wood, or a combination of what-have-you, into which you throw LOTS of Amero$$$
Unfortunately, neither the KFC grease nor the Cheetos cheese dust washed out of their pores will improve their cognitive skills so that they change their vote to something which better aligns with their interests,
I hope that’s a real picture. (Yes, I’m a bad person too.)

From what I’ve heard, the bigger boats didn’t observe proper safety precautions and ended up swamping the smaller ones.
It’s very Republican. The big guys don’t care about the little guys, even on their own side.

A rising tide apparently doesn’t raise all boats. Some people have to learn the hard way.

Sometimes a rising tide swamps all boats, which is the perfect description of Trump’s America.
