Saturday News Briefs

Hair Führer Donald Trump hates this picture and finds it demoralizing. Please stop using this picture. Tell everyone you know to never, ever use this picture again.

Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) got their hands on the new Trump tell-all book, “Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady,” by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, and boy-howdy, the first excerpt from it (they have about 7 excerpts) rings so true, I had to put it in here, now, early, and call it a very rare Saturday News Brief:

— Donald Trump wanted his inauguration to look like a North Korean military parade. When discussing the parade with Winston Wolkoff and Ivanka during the transition, Trump said: “I want tanks and choppers. Make it look like North Korea,” he told them. Winston Wolkoff wrote: “He really wanted goose-stepping troops and armored tanks? That would break tradition and terrify half the country.” For the inauguration, Mark Burnett, the creator of “The Apprentice,” the television show which paved the way for Trump’s popularity, also wanted to “light the sky with drones, and Donald and Melania loved the idea.” No drones ended up being used to spice up the inauguration — they could have posed a safety risk.

If Steph is accurate, Melania and Donald have a lot in common.

Even with all that pomp, the stands would have been empty.

Drones could have posed a safety risk? Was this a wedding in Afghanistan?

Good King Donald the tRump was so sure he could get away with violating several Federal Laws regarding his reelection shenanigans on the grounds of the White House, that he was heard bragging about it to his aides the day before, and all day during.
Something along the lines of, “Lookit this shit – I can get away with anything these days; who’s going to stop me?”

I don’t know about you, but this does not bode well, and in fact it scares the livin shit outta me.

Wrong. There were a lot of drones, all on the reviewing stand, and they still pose a safety risk to the country today.

Further evidence that Trump has been and will continue to be a vainglorious narcissist with delusions of grandeur. He started out his term envisioning an autocratic presidency like his N Korean idol and he’s managed to create that feeling right up to his re-election. It’s his dream to be king and if we don’t stop him in November, he could make it real.

Fortunately, I don’t think American soldiers are physically capable of goose-stepping.

Remember those comic-opera uniforms Nixon wanted for the White House guards? I wonder if the designs are still in a drawer somewhere.
