I’d like to know the opinion of the lionesses in his life.
I saw a video years ago of an experiment in which a very realistic male lion (combo of a taxidermized lion with internal movement mechanism) in a location at one of the big African parks where the local pride would find it. The faux lion was posed in a relaxed-on-his-tummy posture, and would occasionally move his head in a realistic way.

The thing was, he had a dark mane, while all the local males had the more usual buff-reddish-tan manes. Well, the interest of the pride’s ladies was very marked and the experimenters put it down partly to the exotic mane color. “Hey, dark and handsome. New in town?”

    Cause chicks love variety’!
