Saving the USPS, Part Infinity

This machine kills fascists Art by Mike Shine (H/T @cgerrish on the Twitter)

The NYTimes reports:

“The House interrupted its summer recess on Saturday for a rare weekend session to approve legislation blocking cost-cutting and operational changes at the Postal Service that Democrats, civil rights advocates and some Republicans fear could jeopardize mail-in ballots this fall.

“The measure, put forward by Democratic leaders, would also require the Postal Service to prioritize the delivery of all election-related mail and grant the beleaguered agency a rare $25 billion infusion to cover revenue lost because of the coronavirus pandemic and ensure it has the resources to address what is expected to be the largest vote-by-mail operation in the nation’s history.”

Gotta get the description correct. #MOscow Mitch is a good little NKVD apparatchik..

Just a quick stab in the buttock with a polonium-tipped umbrella. Almost painless — practically humane! — that is, when the waiting to die a slow death is over.

It will be very interesting to see what Mitch does on Monday. His usual trick is to ignore the proposed bill and toss it onto the big pile of other proposed bills he doesn’t want to be voted on and possibly passed.

But the Postal Bill is a big deal with lots of public interest and demands for resolution. Also, the DeJoy guy is not winning any popularity contests, mostly because he’s an arrogant prick, a lot like Moscow Mitch himself. So will Mitch allow this bill to reach the Senators in a timely manner? We shall see.

MoscowMitch will not call the Senate back. He’s got some grifting to do.

      Nothing to see here.

I’m betting he grows a pair, and calls for the vote, seeing as his constituency, in despair over slow-to-no mail, can replace him with Amy McGrath, come November.
