The Republican Party Takes Flight

Nancy Pelosi says  that progress on negotiations for a new coronavirus relief bill is “complicated by the complete disarray on the Republican side — as President Trump contradicts his own negotiators and his own position.”

It’s easy for us to heap blame on the Dims, but it is also true that the Republicans had already left town and Prznint Art of the Deal is not negotiating at all. I do think it is a strategic mistake to have left too, also. I hope Pelosi gets the whole band all back together (à les Blues Brothers), but I think it is up to us, out in the provinces to make our representatives realize we ain’t happy.

* Our attempt to create a Republican tagline equivalent to Democrats in Disarray is sadly not taking.

    “Rethuglicons Rarin’ to Recoup!”

Oh, wait……they haven’t “couped” yet, so it would kinda hard to “recoup” until the NEXT Prezinentl Election. But don’t worry, hang in there – it’ll happen…

TG – I just noticed that the comments are turned off on your “Housekeeping” post. If it’s deliberate, that’s cool – I’m just inna mood to spout off and spew a bit, and to offer some encouragement for the next week:
I had a boss at one time, who just loved to drive up to the job site, get outta his big-ole werk truck, (that spent more time at the Detailer, than actually “working,”) look around, and say: “You men are doing an excrement job! Keep up the good work!”

( “I’m home, home and deranged; drank some beer and Jack Daniel’s today.
But never is heard a discouraging werd,
Coz the wife and the kids all moved away…”)

I’d like to see Pelosi grab a carton of ice cream from her freezer, smack it against the wall then let loose a string of 4-letter words to describe Republicans. Take it a bit beyond tearing up Trump’s speech, show some real “nasty”.

    Howdy y’all!
The one good thing about Congress being on vacay, is that there members are, theoretically, back in their districts making them available for visits and town halls. You can see them in their offices and at their town halls and voice your concerns. You can also do the calling thing and social media at them.

If I may suggest using a resource that I have assembled for locating contact information for your MoC and in this blog post outlined many of the more pertinent aspects of the HEROES Act so you can use that in contacting your MoC and urging them to do something other than nothing.

If cutting and pasting the link isn’t your thing, you can always go directly to the blog, (oh, I guess that is cutting and pasting, too, unless you use it in your favorite search engine) and visit the Call Your MoC page looking for the link.

Both sides don’t. We might yet find a better tagline.

In “Auntie Mame” Peckerwood is the name of her Georgian (future) husband’s plantation. There’s levels of jokes going on there that I did not know.
