About Tonight’s Executive Orders

(H/T Scissorhead Skinny-D)

And now, today’s orders from Hair Füror:

I cannot stress this enough: Prznint Stupid does not have the authority to do any of the orders he announced today: they all have to do with allocating dollars, which is explicitly the responsibility of Congress.

So, either he’s 1) running a photo-op con, B) he’s dumber than dirt or iii) he really believes that he’s already our dictator. It could be any combo of these or all of ’em. I’m expecting there will be some statements from Pelosi and Shumer.

Trump accused Obama of a power grab when he issued executive orders. It’s laughable. This is Trump’s attempt to take control over that which he is not authorized to do. Congress handles the money, not Trump. And he’s using his fucking golf course resort as a campaign rally site.

Nothing good comes of this. We’re losing our system of checks and balances to a wannabe dictator.

Donna, we must always remember he’s a “Reality” show host.

We feared fascism would come wrapped in the flag carrying a cross. No one ever thought it would come from a toilet in a tweet at 4:30.

(I still blame B.Clinton and his triangulation strategy. He taught the right all they had to to do to get everything they ever dreamed of was go bugfuck crazy.)

He should have just extended the eviction moratorium. It would actually have done some good, and he probably does have the authority to do that, since it doesn’t involve spending money.

The best part of all of this, for LDN, is that he can blame Obama later. It will never be too late to blame Obama.

      It’s all optics.
There is already blowback saying Democrats forced him to step in and take action because they wouldn’t just ransom the hostages go along with the Republicans. No mention of the Senate going into recess without bothering to approve anything. Just the Democrats cannot just agree with the White House (literally followed by saying Trump had nothing to do with the negotiations) so it’s all their fault when evictions start, when UI drops by the full $600 and when your paycheck does not go up.
      Liberal Media my ass.

And while we are talking about taxes and pandemic relief, is the trump campaign going to repay the IRS for all the free campaigning they were forced to do on the taxpayer’s dime? There were all those checks that had to be delayed or reprinted to get LDN’s signature on them and, for direct deposits, there was a notice sent out on IRS letterhead/ envelopes with IRS postage to everyone who didn’t get a physical check. Maybe also those that did, I don’t know. That has to add up to a lot of chump change in postage alone.

    Howdy y’all!

Since thinking is hard and we all avoid it to some degree, if the Dems sue to stop his power grab and rule by fiat, the Repubes will be able to say they oppose helping people in the pandemic. The finer points of separation of powers and Constitutionally allotted checks and balances will be lost on most of the iNdEpEnDeNt VoTeRs who are not paying close enough attention. The Dems still have to do it to preserve the Constitution. They still have to work towards legislation to provide these relief measures. With these executive orders, the Repubes have even less incentive to negotiate.

This is bad on so many levels.

“And. LO, did it come to pass, that the mighty King tRump did issue strong Edicts, and Orders such that everyone bowed down in abject fear, while the entire US Treasury, the complete Social Security Trust Fund, AND the USPS’s Pension Fund, along with the Pensions of every Fed Gov’t employee, were emptied and bestowed on his Majesty, in hopes of assuaging his unquenchable thirst for ever more riches and wealth.”

“Not enough!” he cried…”not nearly enough! Where’s the rest? The Gold, In Fort Knox, BRING IT TO ME, NOW!” Alert my Military I want them going door-to-door, making sure every citizen has gladly given up every thing of value they own and posses, if they know what’s good for them!”

And so the Prophecy was fulfilled, and the peasants went about their lives, toiling tirelessly through each long day, so that Emperor tRump, the Almighty, the One Chosen by God to watch over us, as a shepherd with an overpowering hunger for lamb chops would watch over his flock, remains in charge, much to the delight of the Rich Guy’s Club.

The Republican party has officially abandoned rule of law. Been waiting for this for months.

Plan on taking the week of November 2nd off to defend your County Board of Elections from the DHS goons, the Koch Tea Partiers and the III Percenters. They “are going to try to seize our ballots. If you’re in a Forever Red or Forever Blue state, plan on spending your vacation week in a swing state county.

And send out your application for an absentee ballot. Today. It costs a printed page, an envelope, and one stamp. Dammit, it’s literally the least you can do.

Has the Cheetolini signed any laws at all in his reign of error? I can’t remember. The thing is, as I understand it, all “Executive Orders” can be undone by the President. The new President.
We just have to live to Vote and count them, come November, and we can be free of all his crap in one signing session.

w3 – I think the Tax Act of 2017 was his only signed-into-Law accomplishment. Everything else has been done by EO, or “writs” or just memos.

  8. The Supine Court of the United States just told him he could do it, that it was ok for him to take money from the Pentagon to pay for WALL. That’s what John “kiddie torture enthusiast” Woo told him when he went to celebrate ‘advise’ him on how to use this fuckery…

  9. Plus, also, he announced he will try to bribe us–with our own money!
