Pelosi Updates Her Quote-of-the-Morning!

(Hat tip: Scissorhead Skinny-D)

“The light at the end of the tunnel may be the freight train of the virus.”

But wait! There’s more:

JIM CRAMER: “Can we give a huge chunk of money to the people who are disenfranchised? To minorities who want so badly to stay in business and can’t? And to people who are trying to go to college or have student loans who are minorities, who are the most affected because they had the least chance in our country? That’s got to be something both sides can agree to.”

PELOSI: “Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn for what you just described.”

And just in:

1.2 million seek jobless aid after $600 federal check ends

“The government’s report Thursday did offer a smidgen of hopeful news: The number of jobless claims declined by 249,000 from the previous week, after rising for two straight weeks, and it was the lowest total since mid-March.

“Still, claims remain at alarmingly high levels: It is the 20th straight week that at least 1 million people have sought jobless aid. Before the pandemic hit hard in March, the number of Americans seeking unemployment checks had never surpassed 700,000 in a week, not even during the Great Recession of 2007-2009. … All told, 16.1 million people are collecting traditional unemployment benefits from their state.”

And then there’s this (W$J):

More Farmers Declare Bankruptcy Despite Record Levels of Federal Aid

“About 580 farmers filed for chapter 12 bankruptcy protection in the 12-month period ended June 30, according to federal data. That was 8% more than a year earlier, though bankruptcies slowed slightly in the first half of 2020 partly because of an infusion of federal aid and hurdles to filing during the pandemic, according to agricultural economists and attorneys. …

“The Trump administration is expected to dole out a record $33 billion in payments to farmers this year, according to the University of Missouri’s Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute. The funds, including those intended to help farmers hurt by trade conflicts and the coronavirus, would push government payments to 36% of farm income, the highest share in nearly two decades, the institute said.”

Each Republican legislator on the Hill is going to need a 55-gallon drum of aloe to soothe that wicked burn. I’m currently waiting for the flood of “I care!” and Pelosi-slamming posts to flood the Twitter machine.

Jim Cramer, reputable journalist, asks the tough questions. They are extremely tough not to laugh at. Also too, if you derive 36% of your income from the gummit, that makes you a bonafide socialist through and through.

Yep, you can tell Thanksgiving’s just around the corner – it’s gobblin time. Time for Big Ag to gobble-up all the small farms that have been in the same family for generations. For the large Real Estate conglomerates to gobble-up the vacant properties that were foreclosed on, buying-out those smaller property-owners who had no choice but to evict non-paying tenants, and thus went into foreclosure themselves, and then bundle those up into “junk securities,” to be held by hedge-fund mgrs, who only serve to deplete your 401(k). IF you’re fortunate to have such. Big Banks are going around, gobblin-up the smaller ones that couldn’t survive without those small, neighborhood businesses that are, essentially, the life-blood of most communities.

Just think of it – a Starbucks on EVERY corner, like we always dreamed of, after THEY get done gobbling-up all those small, independent, mom-&-pop shops.
