But Her Emails, Redux
Addled Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), long-time friend of Russia, is planning on conducting hearings into a Russian disinformation plan. The problem is, of course, that appropriately-named Johnson is amplifying the disinformation.
Yes, we’re talking about Burisma and Hunter Biden again. RoJo seems to think that this dead horse is still the best way to re-elect Lord Damp Nut.
Our pals over at Electoral Vote:
“Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) wants to investigate Hunter Biden, so he is asking various officials on Biden’s campaign, along with former government officials, to testify. They are not playing ball, so Johnson is threatening to subpoena them. It would be ironic, of course, if the targets of the subpoenas refused and said that the Supreme Court just ruled that Congress has no subpoena power. This could lead to more court cases and handing the whole matter back to the Supreme Court in 2021 or 2022.”
Tiger Beat’s morning email thingie:
While we were reporting this story, Sens. Gary Peters, the top Democrat on the Homeland Security panel, and Ron Wyden, the Finance Committee’s top Democrat, re-upped their demand for defensive briefings on the investigation. Democrats — and, privately, some Republicans — have warned that the probe itself is a Russian disinformation front that could be used by the Kremlin to interfere in the 2020 campaign. Peters and Wyden said they want to “fully understand the national security and counterintelligence implications of foreign election interference and your ongoing investigative work.”
