GOP Embraces Masks

(H/T Scissorhead Skinny-D)

Looks like the GOP finally got the memo to cover their ugly mugs:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – In a rare break with mask-averse President Donald Trump, fellow Republican leaders are advocating for face coverings as COVID-19 cases surge in some Republican-leaning states.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said there should be no stigma attached.

“Wearing simple face coverings is not about protecting ourselves, it is about protecting everyone we encounter,” McConnell said on the floor of the Senate.

I wish amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch would try on one of the Hannibal Lechter numbers, or at least a BDSM gimp mask with zippered lips (and you know, Know, KNOW he has a collection in his basement). One for each of his two faces would be nice.

A gimp mask works for me. “Zed’s dead, baby. Zed’s dead.”

Maybe having your co workers and security people come down with it has made a few of them rethink their own mortality. Not morality, just mortality.

I too was wondering which face Moscow Mitch will cover?

Sorry, but I’m only familiar with the One Face of Moscow Mitch, and it’s essentially the visage of Pure, Distilled Evil. He can present it sotto voce, or when he’s ranting & raving, screaming & hollering. Sure, he utters a hypocritical statement now and then, but overall he’s been nothing BUT consistent. RAM through Laws that help his well-protected Special Interest People, and to stack the High Courts with Rethugs, no matter how unqualified – they’re only there as rubber stamps, how much knowledge of Federal, or even Constitutional Law do you need to know, to perform that task.

And pictures of him are suitable only for target practice, or for the bottom of the birdcage.

    • he is the walking, talking embodiment of this:

“The entirety of conservative politics is that there is an in-group, who the Law protects but does not constrain, and an out-group whom the Law constrains but does not protect”

(I have the authors name around here somewhere for proper attribution, but it was a comment on a thread on either Crooked Timber or the (now sadly shuttered) Reality Based Community).
