Breaking: Amy McGrath Wins Primary

Axios Alerts:

Retired Marine fighter pilot Amy McGrath defeated state Rep. Charles Booker in the race for Kentucky’s Democratic Senate nomination, the AP announced Tuesday.

Why it matters: McGrath was deemed an establishment favorite until Booker’s progressive candidacy surged following national Black Lives Matter protests.

  • Booker racked up a number of high-profile endorsements, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro.
  • Kentucky continues to deal with the fallout from the March police killing of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, and Booker has actively engaged with demonstrations calling for justice.

The big picture: McGrath garnered national attention in 2018 when she ran against Rep. Andy Barr (R) in Kentucky’s 6th congressional district, but she ultimately lost by about 10,000 votes.

  • She will now take on incumbent Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in November in what’s likely to be an expensive race as fundraising machines for both parties gear up..
  • However, McConnell is still the prohibitive favorite. Cook Political Report rates the race as “likely Republican.”

OK, a lot is riding on this, and I gotta admit I could NOT picture Kentucky voting for a black man. I’m not sure I can picture Kentucky voting for a woman, either. Hell, I have a hard time picturing Kentucky voting for a Democrat.

Prove me wrong, Kentucky. Get to work!

Naw……..I think them folks like their “KY jelly jammed up tight.” Chickens voting for Col. Sanders, like sheep to the slaughterhouse. All Moscow Mitch has to do is say “Socialist Democrats are coming for yer guns!” and he’s cemented in, once again.

Imma not wade into the leftist fray today, Twattle and Facefuck have been weird.

Suffice to say, I like Mr. Booker. Quite a bit. I prefer Amy McGrath for this race, but Mr. Booker will be back, hopefully against Ferrethead McBrokenRibs in a couple years.

They won’t be voting for “a woman” TG; they’ll be voting for a fighter pilot. And that’s how the campaign needs to be crafted: War Veteran v Moscow Mitch.

Now, Mr Booker needs to hit the trail and vigorously campaign for Ms McGrath.
Kentucky will be so much better without “Chins.”

as unpopular as he is, in the senate and supposedly even in his own state, i can’t understand why the keep sending this megadouche back to washington. i’m guessing it boils down to there’s no accounting for stupid.

I’m getting tired of fucked up Kentucky always being the baby at the table. I think they should be sent to their room.
