The Terrible Sand Kingdom of Arizonastan: ‘You’re On Your Own’

The terrible sand people of the terrible sand kingdom of Arizonastan.

Well, that’s throwing in the towel:

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said on Thursday that Arizonans need to learn to live with the coronavirus.

The Republican governor was responding to recent reports that the state was seeing an uptick in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

An uptick?!

Now, as confirmed cases of COVID-19 soar here, making Arizona a national hot spot for new infections, it’s becoming clear that many residents chose to go back to life as normal as if nothing had changed. The state recorded 7,121 new cases between May 31 and June 6 — a 54% increase over the previous week, and has also seen a spike in hospitalizations.

This is what happens when The Party Of Personal Responsibility meets Ayn Rand selfishness, people die. It’s not just the stupid people that crowded unmasked into bars (in AZ and elsewhere), but think of the people who work in those places who are exposed for their entire shift. And now tell me that the staff has healthcare.

What part of pandemic doesn’t register with these selfish effs? I just don’t get it. The Trump Virus is non-discriminatory, it doesn’t check your Voter Registration or tax bracket, it’s just looking for a host.

And remember Dr. Fauci says we have at least another year of the pandemic ahead of us.

You got some jackass telling people we’d have fewer cases if we had less testing. Responsible governors must be a bit frustrated at trying to hold the line against the virus.
I would not be surprised if LDN actually believes that line: less testing = fewer cases. Remember when Hillary suggested it might be a bad thing to have a president with skin as thin as donald’s?

Fewer known cases. Check with the OTHER Donald about known unknowns.

Seriously, if there isn’t something wrong with the part of the brain that can conceptualize abstract concepts, such as the connection between testing and reducing overall COVID-19 cases, then he’s a lot more clever than he looks, what with the pretending and the overcoming the compulsion to show off how awesome he thinks he is.
He’s like the Hindenberg of gaslighting. But don’t try to tell him that, he’ll get it muddled somehow.

  2. Gov Doug “Il Deuce” Ducey also fucked over rural Arizonans.

When the Feds handed out billions for the States to deal with this, the biggest cities Phoenix, Tucson and Mesa (and the counties they’re in) got their money directly from the Feds and got all the money that was allocated to them. The Gov then kept a big chunk of the remainder for the state that was supposed to go to other counties and cities.

Those other cities and counties are…not…pleased…

Note: The AZ Lege is currently sitting on a huuuge “Rainy Day Fund” when asked about using this to help deal with the budget shortfalls the House leader said, “but it’s not raining”.

AZ has had Republican control of the Lege for over 45 years. This shitshow is ALL on them.

If Republicans have had control of the Lege for 45 years, what’s the over/under that they’ve already spent that rainy day fund?

  4. Jeebus H. Fucking Crow, don’t old people have enough to worry about? I have been sheltering-in-place with my wife for 100 days as of today. Oddly enough, it turns out we still like each other’s company after 51 years of wedded bliss. We have separate computers in separate rooms. We stay in touch with friends and family with Internet. I unfriended ALL of the Trump people on the FB and elsewhere, and my mental health seems better; but I dunno, maybe ask my wife.

“Save the Whales!, er, the citizens!! er, the Environment! er, the cities and towns, and municipalities, the States that are all approaching Bankruptcy and financial ruination, er, [checks notes] the Corporations?!?!?!

That’s right, the Busyness of America is Big Bizness, and don’t yooouu forget it. Except when so many of the citizenry die off that your Consumer-based Economy suddenly doesn’t have sufficient Consumers to satisfy the Bottom Line. Or enough workers to man the assembly-lines. Or even enough to cart away the dead, eventually. But meanwhile, we’ll spend lotsa taxpayer Ameros to buy Corporate Bonds, which will suffice to keep the Economy afloat another few months, or long enough for these bastards to flee to a country with no extradition to US.

TG – if you think it’s worth it, could you edit where I forgot that final < and the /s, right before the “[checks notes]”? I’m sure the Scissorheads will have no problem interpreting it, It’s the visuals that help make the comment, besides, as well.
