    At least the aroma is not Gwynneth. And in fact, the last few times I got close enough to really smell some candles properly, they all smelled like burnt nose hair…

      Perhaps you should check out some aromatic oils. They can be used sans flames.
      (I’m partial to the cedar essential oils, but find that unlit scented candles mostly smell like some sort of soap)
