#MoscowMitch: ‘Help Is On The Way, CEOs!’

Amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch McConnell

It is a known fact that Republicans in Congress, given the chance, will always choose the welfare of CEOs over voters every single time. And given the craven nature of amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch McConnell, well, they are not even trying to hide it any longer (to the degree that they ever did).

Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) leads with more constituent-killing initiatives from #MoscowMitch:

NEW RED LINE … Senate Majority Leader MITCH MCCONNELL and House Minority Leader KEVIN MCCARTHY are now saying they will not agree to anycoronavirus stimulus bill that does not include protections for employers from lawsuits in the post-coronavirus world — called liability protections. A LEADERSHIP AIDE told us Thursday night that liability protections are a “red line” in the upcoming negotiations.

NEW STATEMENT FROM MCCONNELL AND MCCARTHY: “As the nation continues fighting this pandemic and parts of our economy begin to emerge from shutdown, Senate and House Republicans are united in our demand that healthcare workers, small businesses, and other Americans on the front lines of this fight must receive strong protections from frivolous lawsuits.

I think that frontline workers would rather not have to make the decision between their health and being You’re Fired’ed and not being eligible for unemployment and then going instantly broke. Do continue.

“WE CANNOT LET a second pandemic of opportunistic litigation enrich trial lawyers at the expense of Main Street and medical professionals. Senate and House Republicans agree these protections will be absolutely essential to future discussions surrounding recovery legislation.”

Because the only constituents that #MoscowMitch cares about are his paymasters in the corner offices. Notice how there is nothing in his statement about providing any kind of protective gear or other regulations that might help workers? Yeah.

So when the meatpacker shoulder-to-shoulder next to you coughs in your face and keels over dead, you must continue working until you cough on the person next to you, and your heirs cannot sue over the unsafe working conditions. In essence, the meatpacker is now considered an essential service, but not as essential as Lord Damp Nut having his hamberder or burnt steak, because he won’t order more protection for them and won’t prosecute companies for endangering them.

DEMOCRATS, thus far, have been equally adamant that these protections stay out of the bill, so buckle up for CARES 2, or Phase Four, or whatever you’d like to call the next bill, which we should see some movement on within a month or so.

And just to throw another wild card into the hand we’re being dealt, Prznint Stupid says that he will NOT approve any funding for states with Sanctuary Cities, because: why not make a bad situation even worse without a little extortion?

One can only hope that the “ordinary voters” of Kentucky and McCarthy’s district in CA take notice this Nov.

McConnell is a truly evil creature.

Mitch was the kind of kindergartner whom you wanted to make stop eating paste and and shove into a big student’s locker with a non-compliant padlock on the door.

And now, every time you see his mealy-mouthed smirk, a question passes through your mind about whether you are high enough in the building to make defenestration worth the effort.

But you’re only guessing, I assume. Or the statute of limitations has worn out?

Doesn’t even have to be that high if the window is resistant enough to require several tries to break him through 🙂

If “corporations are people,” why aren’t there any in jail or on death row?
