This thread by Rick Wilson is pretty great, please read. We’ll wait.
1/ Watching all this slow, grinding failure and the mounting death toll because of this low, dumb, corrupt man and his low, dumb, corrupt enablers and his low, dumb, corrupt failspawn doesn't shock me, and I'm sorry for that.
Part of his chaotic method is to…

Wilson is pretty great at distracting us and if you notice, nowhere in that long twitter thread does he ever apologize for making the monster factory that produced Lord Damp Nut. We said for years that people like Wilson were going to be destroyed, Frankenstein-style, by the very monsters that they were building, and lo! that day came.
We can go on and on, but the point is, Wilson has been rat-eff’ing the Left since the Reagan era. He was instrumental in every movement conservativism shady, nasty campaign (electoral and policy) on the right for decades. It is axiomatically true that we would not be where we are today if amorale Rick Wilson had not been an architect of GOP Monsters, Inc.
So while I agree with everything Wilson says in that Twitter thread, I do not trust that mother eff’er. At the first available opportunity he will revert to form. Yes, I’m glad to have him in the foxhole with us than against us, but I’m not a fan, I don’t trust him, and neither should you.

There’s no way for me to know how many of the, as of now, 14,831 U.S. deaths confirmed due to COVID-19 can be attributed to LDN’s actions and inactions, but then there have been reports that all the deaths due to COVID-19 are not being confirmed. New York, at least, is apparently saving their tests for the living.

I don’t trust Wilson, but, in Trumpian fashion, I will keep this a transactional relationship: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
If you weren’t around in the late 60’s or early 70’s, you don’t realize the significance of those flag decals. That small decal on your windshield or rear window meant that you supported the war, supported Nixon, and hated the hippies. John Prine was a treasure.

Flag decals were replaced by stupid magnetic ribbons made in China. Some things never change.

Now there are lapel pins that seem to be required of anyone in the club whenever they are on camera.
ming: those stupid magnetic flag ribbons, with “these colors don’t run” on them, were everywhere in the fall of 2001. People were flying flags to
show their patriotismsell more cars, and flying them incorrectly, to boot. By two moths in when those stupid magnetic stickers had been in the weather for a while, me and my honey had a private joke – “these colors don’t run… they just fade away.” We couldn’t say it in mixed company, though. we’d get called traitor. It was nutz.LikeLiked by 1 person
Or the people who flew actual little flags in their window rather than a flag sticker, but then would leave them in there until half the flag had tattered away and it was now just a stream of loose dingy red white and blue threads covered in road dirt. I thought that was pretty good symbolism as we marched to war with Iraq.
Also those “Power of Pride” bumper stickers! I was at a stoplight once behind a car with one of those, and the passenger door opened and the passenger dumped out two armloads of garbage, styrofoam cups and fast food wrappers etc, onto the pavement and then closed the door again.

We had the TrooPatriots around here flying two giant flags from their big-ass
penis substitutespickup trucks here that must have subtracted one or two mpg from wind resistance alone as we fought in a war we were in because of our addiction to cheap middle-eastern oil. There’s ones who fly ’em still, or the truly special ones who fly an American flag and the Traitors Rag…

Not unless we strafe their lifeboats then napalm the survivors.
He is busy transforming himself into the TeaParty2.0
“
BooshTroomp??BooshTroomp who? Never heard of the guy!! Hey! Look at all those horrible deficits the tax-n-spend libtards created! OMG the National Debt is an existential crisis! Only Troo Conservatives™ can help us now! Help Us Saint Ronnie! you’re our only hope!”Then nuke the GOP form orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.

Hold that thought and let’s return to it once we have removed Covfefe the Clown and his pets. I’m not one to let a long-held grudge go, but I will will be looking to settle it later. Memory. Its a super power.

As part of my seasonal employment with the Park Service, one of our duties is to raise and lower the colors. It never ceases to amaze me the lack of respect shown by so many (even those wearing those”patriotic” t-shirts) even when we announce the ceremony, call “Present Arms” and render honors while the colors are raised or lowered. Rarely do they stop to show respect; let alone salute.
Patriots, gotta love ‘em.

Patriotism amongst conservatives is like any hobby/chore with your average ‘murican. If it doesn’t provide instant gratification, it is often put off or forgotten.

Fuck Rick Wilson. He deserves no less than the cancer that humbled and killed off Lee Atwater.
All of this silly, but soon-to-be-forgotten ‘hand-wringing’ over mr. wilson’s culpability in helping to create the void of leadership that led to a grifter like fat nixon is no different than the other morally bankrupt ‘never trumpers’ who all want us to forget their republican branding and mark on recent history to make sure that they all position themselves to keep that sweet wingnut welfare flowing.
Just watch, once fat nixon has been disposed and conveniently ‘forgotten,’ wilson, frum and the many other worthless beltway pundits will all be pimping tom cotton as the next ‘true conservative savior’ of the once again rebranded morally bankrupt republican cult of unworkable tax cuts and deregulation after four short years of senile joe being propped up by his wife and wall st. to look presidential. Hopefully the immeasurable damage left by fat nixon will not put joe in an early grave.
