The First Shady Is Here To Help!

(H/T: Scissorhead Purplehead)

Guys, our First Shady, Ivanka Trump, is here to help! (Somewhere Saint Ronnie is saying, “See! I told you so!”)

From Axios’ morning email thingie:

Ivanka, who has had workforce development in her portfolio going back to 2017, plans an increasing emphasis on small businesses in the weeks ahead as they navigate the rescue bill’s Payroll Protection Program , sources tell me.

  • She initially focused on them as important job creators — especially women- and minority-owned businesses, which create jobs in underserved communities.
  • Now, they’ll be a key path back to an economic recovery.

Watch for Ivanka to take a key role in negotiating small-business provisions in the new rescue bill being planned by the Hill and the White House.

  • She plans to advocate for workforce development and skills training to help Americans get back to work faster.
  • Also look for an emphasis by Ivanka and the administration on ways workplaces will change after the shutdown, including more telework and integration of technology.

You know, technology one needs for ripping off others’ shoe design and sending it to China to be produced under her label. For instance.

Anyway, like a shark smelling blood, the whole family smells Ameros and they are swimming towards the feeding frenzy. Too bad we will have no Inspectors General to ensure that there is any oversight on their efforts.

Not at all, but unfortunately all of the stenographers within the failed beltway media all consider her ‘murican royalty’ with her half-assed, non-working ideas to ‘lift-up’ the modern ‘murican woman…FFS

Lord Dampnut getting rid of the IG for the stimulus, after he agreed to it, just proves that old saying: Never get between a Trump and a pile of money.

What is the deal with the “help” for small businesses? As far as I could tell, large corporations are lining up for no-strings-attached grants, individuals are expected to be granted up to 1,200 (I guess it’s inflation since when Shrub was running the first time) but small businesses?

Here, small business, have a loan that you must dedicate to keeping people on the payroll even though they cannot work. Make sure to pay it back. No grants, no flexibility on what they can spend these loans on, and no funds for keeping the business itself open. Is there an excess of stupid small business owners in trump country or something?

MD – supposedly, there is a “forgiveness clause” in the CARE act, that says borrowers can apply for forbearance after 6 months, but they have to prove the funds were used solely to keep their employees from raising the Unemployment numbers, which makes tRump look bad, er, to help ensure their workforce returns in full, when ready to. Except for the dead ones, that is.

There are NO provisions in this version that extend ANY forgiveness or forbearance past the 6 months specified, that I can see. Like a miracle, this will just go away.
And why did they make the four largest banks “clearinghouses” for loan dispersion & distribution? During the Great Recession of ’07, ’08, the Fed itself acted as the clearing house, eliminating the “middleman,” the Big Banks, that the Rethugs back then tried to insert in the recovery package.
[checks notes] Ooooooh, now I see! Those banks are probly the biggest recipients of the largess granted by Dumpy’s famous Tax Reform Act, so they spent their windfall wisely, by buying back stock, and investing in, er, contributing enormously to Rethuglicon PSAs, but especially to the Boss.

      I hope this helped.

      MDavis –

Lord Damp Nut owns each of his properties as an LLC; he has hundreds of them. And I would venture each one is a small business by the definition they used, which is something like having fewer than 500 employees.

Last I read, Bank of America was the only bank assigned to distribute these ‘loans’ and they as of last Friday when the program was to start, were balking on the terms of repayment, interest etc. and size of loans only to be confronted with a larger demand than what was expected.
