Floriduh Man Governor Ron DeSantis Imposes Social Distancing

I guess now that Spring Break is over, and you know, Gubnor DiSantis milked the Ameros out of the callous Yutes of Today, it was time to pull his head outta his ass, er, the sand, starting tomorrow Floriduhs must stay at home:

Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a “Safer at Home” order that goes into effect April 3. It limits movement outside homes to providing or getting essential services or carrying out essential activities. That also applies to interaction with other people outside of residents’ homes. The order is in effect until April 30.
Religious services conducted in churches, synagogues and houses of worship are counted as “essential business” and are exempt from the order.
DeSantis also issued an executive order mandating a 14-day self-quarantine or isolation period for travelers arriving from areas experiencing substantial community spread of coronavirus.

Praise Jeebus, he’s gonna let the Xristian Xrazies cull the herd. The Floriduh motto, Home of the newly wed and the nearly dead takes on a whole new meaning!

It’s the age-old conflict between science and religion. Science bats last and I’m betting it wins this round.

Speaking of non-essential businesses, Ohio Hobby Lobby stores tried to reopen as an essential business because they sell some fabric that could be used to make masks and have educational materials for kids. Right. So Hobby Lobby got notice from Gov Mike DeWine and the Ohio Dept of Health that they must cease and desist immediately and that the local health department will be at the three area stores WITH POLICE ASSISTANCE to shut them down.

Welp, I sure am glad that finally a Rethuglicon in High Office has admitted that “…Churches are an essential business. So where do I find the tax records, you know, the ones that show how much the indispensable religious institutions have been paying in taxes?

What’s that? There ARE no such records, they don’t exist, because churches are tax-exempt?
Sounds like swell racket to me. No wonder Joel Osteen gets to zoom about in his shiny, $350,000 Ferrari, when he’s not behind the wheel of one the dozen or so others he owns.

And while I was pokin’ ’round with Duckduck, I came across this:

That article from 2007 sure paints a different picture from the Joel Osteen who wouldn’t let any of the Hurricane Harvey refugees take refuge in his church.

Would be interesting to see how many of those kids were Covid-19 vectors into their home towns. Also, I wonder how many Spring Break kids wind up graduating from life before they graduate from college. And, too, speaking of college, just how dumb can you be and still get into college if your idea of a neat vacation is swarming and smarming on a beach during a pandemic quarantine?
