Church and State

Just gonna say it: UGH

This is not just about not letting the ‘mos adopt kids, or unmarried couples, or atheists being able to have food at the kitchens and pantries. This is a real moment of a fundamental threat to religious freedom in our country.

Wait until the Baptists decide to discriminate against the Catholics (and they WILL). There is no end to the slippery slope once the Supreme Court goes there, and with the religious nut jobs on it, they surely will.

  1. Wait until the Baptists decide to discriminate against the Catholics

Then the Papists will simply point to Title VII of the CRA

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a federal law that prohibits employers from discriminating against employees on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin and religion. It generally applies to employers with 15 or more employees, including federal, state and local governments. This is also the section that prevents such discrimination in public accommodations, IIRC.

This is the real evil of these groups; they’re demanding the right to discriminate fomr their position of invulnerability under the law.

Again, humankind will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest

Truly sad that the five male corporate tone-deaf whores in black robes are so afraid of the love and nurturing that the gheys have to give to wayward youth and opt instead for homes where johnny six-pack and his sister/lover jane argue over finances, including the stress of low-paying jobs, suffer never-ending emotional and physical abuse b/c that’s what the omnipotent sky daddy & good ‘ole
x-tian churches prefer as marital unions. FFS

Hello TG. I think you missed what this drive seems to really be about in today’s climate. The drive to establish a Christian theocracy. The dominionists in government and those in “leadership positions” are trying to carve out as many and as deep special privileges for Christianity , and only Christianity, as possible. They learned a lesson from losing so far in the social culture wars. It is step by step. I remember Tony Perkins saying after same sex marriage became the law of the land that while they couldn’t stop gays from marrying each other, they could make it worthless and meaningless. He said they would chip away at it like they have been doing to abortion rights. The whole drive of Pompeo, Pence, Kavanaugh, and the rest is to establish the US as a religious nation first, and a Christian only nation second. Think of the actions of Modi in India, who has the complete support of tRump and crew to do a religious purge of Muslims from the country. This is very worrying times we walk and we need to be very aware of what these people want and their end goal. I watched back in the late 1990’s as Christian churches sponsored candidate after candidate for school boards. They often claimed to be either non-religious or they wouldn’t use their religion on the board. Then when they got majorites all over the south they started forcing religion into the public schools, challenging the education of biology, science in any form, and insisting on weakening the rules to allow more discussion or debate favoring creationism. These people know what they want, they are driven to get it done as it is a mission from their god, and they won’t compromise. Hugs

“There is no end to the slippery slope”
They’ve (Xtians – all of them) been pouring 40 weight on that hill for years.
