Trippin the Light Fantastic and bowing down before Lords Majestic is The Natural Order of Things. Why risk the instability of electing a “commoner,” when those billionaires we admire so much are willing to set up a dynasty, merely by paying for the privilege.

Um… Trump is whatcha call a fake “billionaire”.
If you add up the stolen silver services, and all the grifts, kickbacks, cons and golf trips, I betcha it comes to a princely sum, and he’s probly a billionaire by now – but just barely. Why do you think he craves a second term so much? One simply does NOT leave the Gaming Table when one is on a hot streak, and there’s SO much more moola to be made!

Words. Did the commoners actually believe that the old timey kings were ordained by God? Well, some might have, but I’ll bet a lot of them just took that assertion as “I’m big, you’re small, and keep asking questions and you’ll end up a head shorter.”
I might be overestimating our species’ critical thinking skills.

Nixon was in a relatively viable party. When he got busted he may not have felt shame, but he did bow to the inevitable and resign.
It isn’t so much the figure head as it is the matrix it’s embedded in. The huge, not to say titanic, matrix.
Back in the 1970s the Republicans were led by patriots. Things have changed considerably.
After decades of fear-based propaganda started by Newt Gingrich, Rush Limpballs and Fox, Dickstain Donnie is the perfect candidate for the political cult of sociopathic grifters, theocratic loons and racist imbeciles.
