Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, whose dealings with Ukraine are a key facet of the impeachment case, has been lobbying the President to join his legal team on the Senate floor during his upcoming trial.
Giuliani has pressed Trump to make him part of the team of lawyers who will argue the case against his removal from office on the Senate floor, a White House official and two sources close to the President told CNN. Giuliani has argued that he knows the case against the President inside-out.
The White House declined to comment.
It would be so cool if Comrade Stupid’s
unindicted co-conspirator was there defending him!
Now for you playing along at home, let’s have a brief run-down of Wrong-Again Rudy’s qualifications to be Stupid’s defense counsel:
- Rudy is the beating heart of the Ukraine rat-eff’ery to get dirt on Joe Biden, going on the teevee machine to tell everyone who would listen about his project!
- Rudy was/is bidness partners with two indicted men who (ALLEGEDLY) introduced him to Ukrainian prosecutors to discuss the Biden plot! Lev Parnas has said that Trump personally asked him to be on a James Bond-like assignment!
- Rudy is also under criminal investigation over phone records that show he spoke to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, you know, on significant dates for the impeachment timeline!
- Rudy is widely credited with working to push out our now former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch because he believed she would block Trump’s plot to throw the 2020 election in his favor!
And of course there’s this on the eve of the impeachment:
Rudy Giuliani is going on television and admitting one of the central allegations of the abuse of power article of impeachment against the President.
Republicans cannot explain or defend this. The President’s actions were a corrupt abuse of power for personal gain. https://t.co/LsxhDaiLQX

Back to CNN:
Sources said they did not expect Giuliani to ultimately join the team and said Trump has been advised against tapping Giuliani because of his involvement in the key facts at the heart of the impeachment case against Trump.
“The President is never going to have him in the Senate trial, starting with the problem that he’s a potential witness,” one source close to Trump said.
So you see, if Rudy were there, they could just ask him about what happened, the trial would be over in a just a few minutes! 1, 2, 3, E-Z as bread!
Of course, we could just listen to his Impeachment Podcast.
