Not that Willard represents all Mormons, but as the WaPo points out:

“A former investment manager alleges in a whistleblower complaint to the Internal Revenue Service that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has amassed about $100 billion in accounts intended for charitable purposes.

…”A spokesman for the church did not respond to detailed questions from The Post about the complaint. ‘The Church does not provide information about specific transactions or financial decisions,’ spokesman Eric Hawkins said.”

Jeebus, where have we heard about rich people abusing charities? This is really outrageous and it shows us how petty the thieves of the Trump Crime Family actually are.

UPDATE: Not really an update, and not even related except thematically rich people behaving badly:  The Sackler family withdrew more than $10 billion from Purdue Pharma “as scrutiny of [the company’s] role in the opioid epidemic intensified during the past dozen years,” according to a new audit by the company.

What do you expect from a religion founded by a conman?

  2. My kid did a dual major in college, anthropology and religious studies. I talked with her thesis advisor at graduation, and he said having an intelligent atheist in his class kept him honest and humble. I re-read a Bible, accompanied by her religious studies main text, and refreshed my apostate views!

Needless to say, the Church of Moroni si very conservative and also politically powerful so this obvious tax fraud will go exactly nowhere with Barr’s DoJ.
