      Ages ago in my college days I had to take a speech class. The professor had obviously studied some french because he would berate us and correct us for not pronouncing words such as chaise longue and other Americanized french words the way the French pronounce them. Well, I had studied spanish, So I did a speech about knowing your audience and speaking in a way that your target audience would understand. I brought up several examples of times when our learned professor had mispronounced Americanized spanish words and tried to sell the idea of using the American way of saying things when you are speaking to an American audience. When all was said and done, my GPA took a pretty big hit from that one class.
