Happy Hour News Briefs

Hair Füror’s Pocket Nazi really is as bad as we thought:
Stephen Miller shared articles from VDARE, a vile white nationalist website. He recommended The Camp of the Saints, a book that promotes the white genocide theory. That really tells you everything you need to know about the roots of his ideology. https://t.co/j5hQBftxtK

And if you to to the SPLC article linked in the tweet above, you learn that someone got a boatload of his email (SPLC reviewed more than 900 previously private emails Miller sent to Breitbart editors”) and it is undeniable that he is all but a sheet-wearing klansman:
In the run-up to the 2016 election, White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller promoted white nationalist literature, pushed racist immigration stories and obsessed over the loss of Confederate symbols after Dylann Roof’s murderous rampage, according to leaked emails reviewed by Hatewatch.
…and at the top, they have useful navigation that will make your hair stand on end (or go limp, depending):
In this article
Look, we’ve said for a while that Miller is a monster, but now thanks to SPLC we have the receipts to prove it. He’s a white nationalist in word (if not in deed, given the chance), and there is no one more intrinsic to the nasty, racist immigration stunts in the 4th Reich. That he is employed by We The People is a travesty, that he was stolen from Jefferson Beauregard ‘Stonewall’ Sessions III’s employment by Hair Füror seems sadly predictable.
There’s not a lot more that I can say other than in any other administration, he would be walked out by now, with grim-faced security guards with hands on holsters, on either side of him, with cameras flashing and people standing still, mouths agape pointing at the fiend.
This is not normal. None of this is normal.
This is NOT a back-handed suggestion, much less an overt endorsement, or anything remotely resembling encouragement; it’s merely an observation:
Should an Obama functionary have supported/promulgated like extreme left views from the White House, they would have been killed. No, I’m not exaggerating; history bears this out.
This nation is fcked in the dark with little to no hope of redemption.

That’s because the extreme right analogue to your hypothetical extreme left is the the main stream white supremacy that is a virulent branch of modern american society. It’s gone incognito at times but never away. This country’s original sin persists.
Racism: it’s baked in!

As I have noted many times online, America actually has three original sins: a) religious intolerance (starting with the Puritans and their progeny including today’s evangelicals/fundies), b) genocide (of our Native Americans) and c) slavery (and the racism that continues to infest our politics to this day). In fact, these three original sins largely define the modern GOP (those and pandering to billionaires).

Now there’s the face that soullessly stares out of every Nazi-themed documentary polluting the American conscience since teevee displaced books.

After this much time, I think we have to admit that this IS now normal, and we have serious long-term work we need to do if we want this to be not-normal ever again.

Miller is from a Jewish family. His klan buddies normally don’t care for his kind and I for one, wonder how he gets around in those circles. We can only hope they figure this out soon. He looks as tough as a dust bunny. Not that I wish violence upon anyone but what else can you do with such obstinate ignorance?
He and his adopted kind are a stain upon our country.
