Our Stable Genius realized that Nancy Pelosi & Co., got out in front of the news cycle talking about Comrade Stupid’s disasters in the Middle East and his temper tantrum when this happened:

And being a counter-puncher, Comrade Trump looked to his limited bag of tricks, and decided the “I’m not the puppet. You’re the puppet” was the ticket!

…quickly followed by:

…and then joined by:

Pelosi, being no dummy immediately took the photo of herself standing up to Baby Fingers and used it as her banner on her twitter profile:

…which is world-class shade.

And then Comrade Stupid decided to try a different approach:

All this happened on Day 1000 of the 4th Reich. I love serendipshittery.

Axios morning email thingie summarizes the day:

Roll the camera:

  • A one-page letter from Trump to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (read it below) sounded fake when it first surfaced on Twitter, but was real: “Let’s work out a good deal! You don’t want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy — and I will. … Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool! I will call you later.”
  • During a meeting with the congressional leadership in the Cabinet room, according to a senior Democratic aide who provided a readout, Trump said that Jim Mattis, a four-star Marine general and Trump’s first defense secretary, was “the world’s most overrated general. … You know why? He wasn’t tough enough. I captured ISIS. Mattis said it would take two years. I captured them in one month.”
  • Pelosi told reporters in the White House driveway afterward: “What we witnessed on the part of the president was a meltdown — sad to say.”
  • Trump tweeted: “Nancy Pelosi needs help fast! There is either something wrong with her ‘upstairs,’ or she just plain doesn’t like our great Country. She had a total meltdown in the White House today. It was very sad to watch. Pray for her, she is a very sick person!”
  • Trump had said in the Oval Office earlier about the withdrawal from Syria that endangered our longtime allies, the Kurds: “Syria may have some help with Russia, and that’s fine. It’s a lot of sand. They’ve got a lot of sand over there. So there’s a lot of sand that they can play with. But we were supposed to be there for 30 days; we stayed for 10 years. And it’s time for us to come home. … The Kurds are much safer right now … They’re not angels, if you take a look.”
  • The House voted 354-60 to condemn Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria.

At the White House, Trump told Pelosi, according to the Democratic aide: “President Obama drew a red line in the sand. In my opinion, you are a third-grade politician.”

  • House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said: “This is not useful.”
  • Pelosi and Hoyer stood and left the meeting.
  • According to the aide, Trump as they left said: “Goodbye, we’ll see you at the polls.”

Not to be outdone, Politico email thingie says:

FALL BRAWL — Stop me if you’ve heard this before: a White House meeting between Trump and Speaker Nancy Pelosi blew up in spectacular fashion, with one of them storming out of the room. This time, the showdown came after a bipartisan meeting over the situation in Syria – the president’s first meeting with Democrats since they launched an impeachment probe. And it came right after the House voted overwhelmingly to rebuke Trump for withdrawing troops from Syria, which Pelosi says put him over the edge.

Trump accused Democratic leaders of sympathizing with communists in Syria and slammed Pelosi as “a third-rate politician.” Pelosi, meanwhile, declared that “all roads with you lead to Putin.” And the president kept the feud going on Twitter by posting a picture of Pelosi standing up and pointing her finger at Trump in the meeting, surrounded by a sea of men at the table — which promptly became Pelosi’s Twitter banner. The meeting capped off a very bad day for Trump. Just as the GOP’s fury over Syria decision was dying down, the president inflamed the situation by saying of the Turkish invasion of northern Syria: “It’s not our border.” That sparked a war of words between Trump and his ally Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). And all but 60 Republicans – including members of GOP leadership — voted for a resolution to condemn the president’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from northern Syria. Anyway, so we have two different versions of the same event, one from a known liar. Who you gonna trust? If you said BOTH SIDES!, you win a cigar:

Sweet Jeebus, our media is so eff’ed in the head.

That’s how you turn the tables. For years, stupid’s go-to move has been to walk out and send the process into chaos. “See you at the polls” is the best retort he can muster? He’s fighting above his metaphorical weight class when he tangles with the Speaker. He has no hand.

Listen to this interview of Speaker Pelosi with Jane Mayer of The New Yorker Magazine. I have a new and great respect for her intelligence, acumen, and savvy.
