Gun Legislation Update

Mrs. #MoscowMitch McConnell explains her husband’s need for weapons.

I’ve done caught the Axios disease! Gah!

  • Walmart will stop selling handgun ammunition, which can be used in military-style weapons, and end handgun sales. Wally also requested that customers stop carrying guns in stores, even in states where open-carry is legal. Two shootings at Walmart stores this summer have left 24 people dead. We should also say thank you to Wally for stepping up when the gundamentalists and ammosexuals fail us.
  • The NRA responds! ““It is shameful to see Walmart succumb to the pressure of the anti-gun elites. Lines at Walmart will soon be replaced by lines at other retailers who are more supportive of America’s fundamental freedoms,” and  then the NRA BLAMES THE VICTIMS: “The truth is Walmart’s actions today will not make us any safer. Rather than place the blame on the criminal, Walmart has chosen to victimize law-abiding Americans.”
  • “DO SOMETHING, MR. MCCONNELL” — WaPo full page editorial!
  • Amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch McConnell announced  that he is willing to bring up for a vote any gun-control legislation that the NRA’s $100M Amero asset Prznint Stupid supports. He noted on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show Tuesday morning that he has no idea what the president would be willing to sign, and is waiting for his word, which he anticipates next week. So nicely dodged, #MoscowMitch! The NRA check is in the mail, better cash it right away!
  • Meanwhile, the Justice Dept. is working on legislation that would make it easier to impose the death penalty for mass shooters, something that mass shooters are known to be terrified of and thus will act as a logical deterrent to the mentally deranged. Oh. Wait.

“Anti-gun elites”, really? What a stupid trope for the NRA to keep using. Polls indicate that American citizens of all races, ages, and incomes want gun control measures. The NRA is a giant dinosaur with one foot in the tar pit, snd they’re struggling to keep their brand and grift alive.

Moscow Mitch McConnell is also feeling the dragging down of his brand, I hope he goes down in flames, too. This entire rotten party deserves to fail on a huge scale. And I’m glad Walmart has made steps forward, logical ones, and after refusing to shop at any Walmart for the past ten years, I may stop in and buy something sometime.

    • R White says:

93% of americans all favor some sort of gun control in the form of background checks. chinless b*tch and his fellow morally bankrupt republicans are beginning to realize how worthless they are as the nra approved schtick doesn’t work as well on an angry electorate tired of seeing piles of dead bodies in public spaces. Hopefully that anger at townhalls will translate to making the republican party obsolete and out of power.

So let me get this straight – rabid believers in the Power of The Invisible Hand of The Free Market are now decrying its use, since it’s being employed by “the Other Side.” Oh, and they don’t waste much time calling for boycotts of companies or products that don’t espouse the company line every time, which is, as ‘Muricans, we have the god-given right to buy & own as many weapons as we desire, which is also cast in stone via the 2nd Amendment.

If it wasn’t so horrific, it would be laughable.

Walmart has stepped up a couple of times that I know of. They’ll do it when they have to.
They finally raised their corporate minimum wage (when the PR got too bad, which hasn’t worn off yet, and when Target started their wage increases – not sure which started first – and the competition for workers heated up)
They stopped selling handguns a while age (I didn’t know) except in Alaska and now no more hand guns in AK, too.
They don’t plan on returning guns or ammo, they’ll just sell out and not order more. It shouldn’t take long, their customers will probably rush back to the gun counter and buy it all up within a week, a month at most.
No more open carry in the store will probably take a while to implement and enforce. It will probably take longer to get enforcement of that rule ingrained than to get rid of the stock that will no longer be carried.

Moscow Mitch (R-Traitor) isn’t fooling anybody. He will never allow gun control legislation to reach the Senate, let alone the Clown-in-Chief. Pfft.
