My cat is the same. Scratch his widdle ears, rub his widdle head, stroke his back, even his tail. But touch his belly and your widdle fingers get shredded.

EXACTLY, Donnah !!! Our Boot BEGS for his DAILY brushing! But, watch out, stay away from the belly!! No other area is off limits. My hubby thought that at first, he was abused somehow as a kitten. But lately, this seems to be common among our felines??
      Thx for this posting.

My cat awakens me every morning in a similar fashion – she starts gnawing on my fingers, or different areas of my hand, as if to say, “I’m hungry, so either feed me soon, or I will accommodate my OWN self.” But she does it gently, with love I suppose. No sense in testing her that I can see.

We have 2 cats that do allow a belly rub at times. You damn well better be sure which cat you have first. Good thing the dogs generally like it.
