Death of the Media
FWIW (certainly better to do this than not IMO) they changed their headline between the 1st and 2nd print edition. pic.twitter.com/DOSAMFbvq0

We’re using Nate Silver’s tweet to illustrate The NYTimes’ deranged commitment to Both Sides journalism. Anyone who has paid even the slightest attention knows that racism is a feature and not a bug of our Imperial Wizard Donald Trump’s prznintcy, and that white supremacy is his only domestic policy (other than grifting).
Either that or they credulously believed his Adderall-fueled telepropaganda (see what I did there?) speech yesterday, despite testimony from pipe bombers (now convicted, sentenced, and part of documented public record!) and assorted domestic white nationalist terrorists have all but named him as an inspiration.
Also from the NYTimes:
“President Trump’s re-election campaign has harnessed Facebook advertising to push the idea of an ‘invasion’ at the southern border, amplifying the fear-inducing language about immigrants that he has also voiced at campaign rallies and on Twitter.
“Since January, Mr. Trump’s re-election campaign has posted more than 2,000 ads on Facebook that include the word ‘invasion’ — part of a barrage of advertising focused on immigration, a dominant theme of his re-election messaging. A review of Mr. Trump’s tweets also found repeated references to an ‘invasion,’ while his 2016 campaign advertising heavily featured dark warnings about immigrants breaching America’s borders.”
So, which is it, NYTimes? You already are reporting on the racist rhetoric.
I don’t know if outrage brought about the changed headlines (Twitter is full of outrage on everything, so cause and effect are nearly impossible to discern), but sooner or later Maggie Haberman is going to officially get the Judith Miller award.
Look, @nytimes , it is not just one glaring headline. You have a consistent pattern of trying to normalize the Trump presidency.
You’ve lost our trust, maybe forever.
