That Didn’t Take Long!

The movers and the shakers in the White House

Federal Judge Amit Mehta upheld a Democratic subpoena for Prznint McGrifter’s personal and business financial records. The ruling is the first by a federal judge considering Prznint Stupid’s legal efforts to avoid congressional subpoenas and could set a legal precedent for other judges to consider.

Tiger Beat:

“U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta’s ruling delivers a striking blow to the president’s efforts to resist Democratic investigations, and is certain to give Democrats further legal basis to investigate Trump, his finances, and his presidential campaign.

“In addition to upholding the House Oversight and Reform Committee’s subpoena to accounting firm Mazars USA for eight years of Trump’s financial records, Mehta took the extra step of denying the president’s request for a stay pending appeal.”

As you may recall, Mehta said late last week that he would have a ruling soon, and soon it was. This throws sand in the Delay-Delay-Delay machinery that Prznint Stupid is counting on before the 2020 Goat Rodeo.

But wait! There’s more!

Stupid’s personal lawyer Jay Sekulow, who promised that an appeal to Mehta’s ruling would be filed promptly, is probably in hot water hisself:

President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen alleges that the President’s attorney Jay Sekulow knew that Cohen’s claim to Congress that the Trump Tower Moscow project ended in January 2016 was false, Cohen told the House Intelligence Committee in March.

“The claim comes from a transcript of the roughly 15 hours of closed-door testimony that Cohen gave the committee and the panel voted to release Monday evening.

“Just to be perfectly clear about this, the statement about the Trump Tower negotiations ending in January that was part of your original draft was false, and Mr. Sekulow knew that it was false?” asked committee Chairman Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, according to the transcript.

“Yes, sir,” Cohen answered.

“Cohen said it was Sekulow who was the one who decided to pick January 2016 as when they stopped working on Trump Tower Moscow.”

So the Prznint’s own lawyer Sekulow (emphasis on “low”) might have beeen obstructing justice and suborning perjury, which brings Stupid’s cult of personality into sharp relief, and he might end up being bunkmates with Michael Cohen in the federal sneezer.

“Denied a stay pending appeal”. Now as a non-lawer, I would see that as cut and dried, ‘cough up the docs now’ so to speak. However, I know this won’t be the outcome, at least yet.
Can someone enlighten me as to how he (it) will get around this latest development?
I believe he will be kicking and screaming like a 2-year-old before he ever comes clean about anything.
