The Horse Race Continues

Horse Race Reporting: Comin’ round the bend…

So, some more fundraising totals have come in for this first quarter, and without revealing the amounts (because I’m lazy, but Axios lists them along with how many donors, etc.), here’s the ranking-

  1. Bernie
  2. Kamala
  3. Beto
  4. Mayor Pete
  5. Amy
  6. Corey
  7. Andrew Yang (I have no idea who he is and he’s not in the Goat Rodeo list!)

The rest of the pack has not released numbers yet.

Here’s the thing: it’s not apples to apples. Depending on when someone announced till now, it could be a lot of time or a little time; Bernie also had his list from last time, and a fan club that has not diminished enthusiasm since the previous Goat Rodeo. Some candidates (Sen. Professor Warren for instance, who has not yet released her numbers) are not taking PAC money. Others, who shall not be named, are.

It’s really hard to say much about these numbers other than:

“Good News for John McCain!!1!”

  1. No no, the appropriate response is “This is good news for everyone except Kamala Harris, because icky lady partz”

Andrew Yang is a tech guy (He made his Amero’s building up a GMAT test prep company, that got bought by Kaplan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Yang#Manhattan_Prep ) essentially running on an “Establish a UBI” platform: https://www.yang2020.com but if he were the candidate it’d make the Reagan-Mondale race look like a tight contest, sadly.
