Skipping Stone’s

The Babadook or Roger Stone?

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, warning Stone that if he doesn’t maintain public silence about his criminal case, she’ll revoke his bail:

“This is not baseball. There will be no third chance. If you cannot abide by this, I will be forced to change your surroundings so you have no temptations.”

And as one wit on Twitter put it…

At first I was disappointed that the judge let Stone off after his disgusting post, but I saw someone explaining that this judge is very sharp. Had she tossed him into jail this time, he would have cried about abuse of power and made himself out to be a martyr. This way, he’s completely responsible for what happens to him. And by restricting him further, she’s invoked his worst nightmare: no public voice. Smart!

  2. A comment I’ve seen several times about this is a riff on the Ron White line: “He has theright to remain silent…but does he have the ability to?”

My quatloos are on “No” [thinks a moment] Excuse me, I think I’ll move my stack over to “Aw HELL nah!” 🙂

I give Rodge a week before he can’t hold it in any longer…

Awww….there goes his 1st Amendment right to free speech; he’ll be wailing about that until the media can no longer access him when he’s doing time, stylishly, in orange jumpsuits.
