New UN Ambassador Appointment

Lump of Coal, anyone?

Axios tells us:

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has spoken to President Trump and recommended U.S. Ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft as the next UN ambassador, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

“Details: Like McConnell, Craft is from Kentucky, where she and her husband, billionaire coal CEO Joe Craft, rank among the state’s highest-profile Republican donors. She previously served as an alternate delegate in the U.S. delegation to the UN during the George W. Bush administration, specializing on the issue of U.S. engagement in Africa.”

Of course it had to be a coal billionaire.

Being Trump’s Ambassador to Canada when Fat Nixon was raving on trade against Canada (and so many other countries) must have been challenging for an ambassador there right? NO! She had a big, experienced embassy staff doing all the leg work. Also, um, Canada’s right next door. She’s mostly known as ambassador as being a climate denier (she’s married to a KY coal magnate, natch and friend of the Turtle). The UN is a different place. Despite Trump’s hideous attitude towards the UN and just about everything else international, Nikki Haley had enough skillz as SC governor to actually do deals in that body. I’m thinking that Ms. RW Billionaire is going to fail at actually doing anything in the UN because you can’t just use staff. Former Ambassador Massive Mustache Bolton was a massive failure as ambassador during W’ failed reign. But then again failure is no problem for the Trumpers.

I’m sure that there will be some Climate Change resolutions that will get veto’ed by the Coal Heiress.
