Local Billionaire CEO Reconsidering Venti-sized Ego-induced Run

Stolen from Sprudge – which you should go read. Click the image!

Starbucks’ CEO emeritus Howard Schultz is learning that he cannot always get his order right.

Fox Bidness News tells us that the man who made his fortune selling us glorified milkshakes and lifestyled pumpkin-spice coffee for $5/shot has a few regrets already:

“The billionaire and former Starbucks CEO has told advisors that he was shocked by the stridency of the attacks made by Democrats following the announcement he was seriously considering running for president as an independent in the 2020 election, and is now said to be looking more closely at whether he wants to go through with the effort, the FOX Business Network has learned…

“The intense nature of the criticism stunned Schultz, people close to him tell FOX Business. While he expected some carping, he did not foresee the ferocity of some of the vitriol, particularly from the party’s top officials and operatives. In addition to the barrage of criticism from leading Democrats, Schultz was also blindsided by the grass roots blowback, including being heckled during an event in New York City to promote his new book.”

The  exact words of that grassroots blowback?  “You’ll help elect Trump, you billionaire, egotistical asshole.” We hope that his campaign advisor and Never Trumper Steve Schmidt was paid in cash, and in advance, because our experience so far with billionaire, egotistical assholes is that they stiff the hired help.

Note to our Failed Media: All of the declared Democrats in the 2020 Goat Rodeo have put together thoughtful policy proposals that would restore power in America to the people, and help to re-establish the middle class as the center of the economy. Focus on policy ideas, rather than the whims of some caffeinated knob who wants to be a Man of Destiny (tax free!). That would help to make our country a better place. Thank-you.

Aw common! Surely he could already anticipate the triple play: Perot to Nader to Schultz!

    Or are ALL billionaires idiots?

    • When you’ve peter-principle’d your way to those kinds of rareified heights, the Dunning-Krueger Score has to be charted on a log scale to keep it on the page.

Witness Elon Musk’s announcement that ‘If the Model 3 was cheaper, a lot more people could afford it’ like it was some sort of profound and novel insight he’d just had.

Magnets Markets, how do they work??”

He could not possibly be surprised by hostile response if he actually paid any attention to news reports that covered Hillary viz a viz emails/Benghazi/Christmas-tree-decoration/Trump-rallye-pile-ons, and et cetera. Could he?

Just what we need. Another self-centered businessman as President. Not.

Just watched last night’s Seth Meyers. He had Michael Moore on, quoting Schultz saying he’s a “self-made man.” He grew up in taxpayer-supported public housing. He went to a public university. Self-made my ass.

He was shocked by the stridency of the attacks made by Democrats? Too bad he didn’t announce he was going to primary Trump since republicans are so much more civil that way.
