Making the Leap!
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said Friday she will run for president in 2020.
“I have decided to run and will be making a formal announcement within the next week,” the Hawaii Democrat told CNN’s Van Jones during an interview slated to air at 7 p.m. Saturday on CNN’s “The Van Jones Show.”
Sherrod Brown, too…

Not just goats. We have a small pond in our backyard and if it freezes solid, which it does several times in the winter, the foxes love to come out and skate on it. Mammals just like to play.

I’m not sure that the Democrats will embrace an anti-gay candidate, nor that the country is quite ready for a Hindu President.

i’d gladly take a hindu over the trash we have now. and anti-gay? i’d say that’s stretching it a bit. so, she once didn’t endorse ssm but, at one time, neither did obama? people change.

You would and I would, but what about the swing voters of Florida and Colorado and Michigan? To actually get anything done, a candidate must be able to win the election.

The Hindus are the ones who believe it’s ok to gang-rape a four year old girl of lower caste to death?

And here I thought the Hindus were the ones who didn’t believe in killing so hard they refused to step on an ant. I just can’t keep up anymore!

That’s the Jains. Different thing.
There are Hindus and Hindus, just as within Christianity there’s Fred Phelps and church soup kitchens and child-molesting priests. India’s government right now is run by a Hindu-nationalist party which is whipping up hysteria against religious minorities (Muslims and Christians), promoting religious bullshit ideas at the expense of science, and trying to pass a citizenship law that would discriminate against Muslims. Sound familiar?
The bottom line is that all religions are bullshit and can be weaponized by people seeking power. But people are much less likely to vote for somebody whose religion is unfamiliar.
