Prznint Stupid threatened to cut off FEMA disaster relief money to Californians whose homes were burnt by wildfires last year. He twatted:
“Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest [sic] fires that, with proper Forrest [sic’cer] Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money.”
The Republican congressman who represents the destroyed city of Paradise and surroundings joined Democrats in criticizing Comrade Stupid’s stupid tweet:
Few California Republicans responded to Trump. Rep. Doug LaMalfa of Richvale, whose district includes areas of Northern California scorched by the Camp fire, said he shares Trump’s frustration with the state’s land management but said that Trump should remember the promise he made to the people of Paradise when he visited their destroyed town in mid-November, that the federal government would help them recover.
The International Association of Fire Fighters describes that Trump’s attack on firefighters “unimaginable.”
So far I have not found any confirmation that Prznint Matches can direct FEMA to smite his political enemies; but there is this amusing note from Tiger Beat:
“When contacted by POLITICO on Wednesday morning, FEMA news desk manager Michael Hart said he was scrambling to understand what exactly Trump’s tweet would entail. As the federal government enters its 19th day of a partial shutdown, parts of FEMA’s media department remain shuttered, but Hart said the administration would release a follow-up on Trump’s tweet soon.”
Presumably not Michael Hart!
About the only thing we know for sure: The spelling of “forrest” was later corrected to “forest.”
