The Death of the Media, Part Infinity

Reminder: Do Not Use This Picture of Trump. Tell a friend. Let’s wipe out the usage of this picture in our lifetimes.

A funny thing happened yesterday after we posted the Death of the Media, Comrade Stupid made our point for us!

The Reliable Sources email thingie tells us:

Let’s be clear: Press secretary Sarah Sanders misled the press corps when she tweeted at 4:07 that there would be a “briefing” at 4:10. She shouldn’t have said that…

But it was not a press briefing, as advertised. It was a “human long-form version of a presidential tweet,” Hallie Jackson said on MSNBC.

Trump evidently is not confident enough to take questions from the press corps right now. “It’s not a press briefing if you don’t take questions,” CNN’s Kaitlan Collins said right afterward…

And of course CNN, birthplace of Zuckerism, ran the whole thing live (as did their twin network, Fox News), while MSNBC cut away saying,  “If the President makes a new announcement or takes questions, we will return to the briefing.” Prznint Stupid didn’t make any announcements, and MSNBC didn’t return. Much credit to MSNBC. Maybe they read MPS?

As long as our free and unfettered press continues to be suckered in by this grifter to covering his every bleat and mewl as breaking news, he’s gonna degrade the Media with him. His “press briefing” was a stunt to shift coverage from Pelosi to himself, and it worked.

This “marriage” with Ms. Pelosi is gonna be GREAT!! This “Press” charade was exactly what you said. I think his quote was ” I WILL NOT BE IGNORED”!!

The narrative, of course, will be that he showed up at a press briefing and completely destroyed the press thereby pissing off many liberals. Joy.

Shouldn’t that statement read ” T is not COMPETENT to take questions from the press. ” Unlike, other times.?

Jeff Zucker has really trashed CNN’s brand. It seems he has stayed away from CNN International, which has a very different programming but CNN domestic is basically just a slightly more civilized version of Fox.

Zucker comes from Entertainment, and so I think he’s kinda scared of the Hard News division, but is totally down with making Editorial entertainment-friendly. CNN has a thinner wall between news and editorial than Fox, and I think that’s part of the problem.
