Our Failed Media Makes A Suggestion

News at 11.

Yeah, boy that will show our Billionaire and Millionaire overlords a thing or two.

One would think a journalist might have noticed… but plutocrats are not going to miss 2 weeks or more of the pocket change that their salary represents in their portfolios. They don’t understand the situation of living paycheck-to-paycheck.

No, not only do plutocrats totally understand living paycheck to paycheck, they totally approve of it and fight like mongooses to oppose any projects which seek to provide relief.
These people believe that proles can only be truly motivated to work hard by anxiety. It’s all stick and no carrot with these fucking assholes.
There’s a distinct connection between this long-standing capitalist/aristocratic dynamic and the theocratic notion that people will descend into moral turpitude without a fear of divine retribution.

These two belief structures—that people will descend into rape and pillage without a fear of god, and will quit working and just goof off all day in destructive (ie, unprofitable) self-indulgent disobedience without constant economic anxiety—go hand in glove in the hearts and minds of the ruling class.
In the US especially we see the plain evidence of this symbiosis daily, and particularly recently, yet discussing our present shitshow as a natural (inevitable, really) outcome of class structure is still largely verboten in the mainstream analysis.

We’ve been conditioned to think that because our “ruling class” no longer minces around in poncy powdered wigs and frock coats in an inbred and purely hereditary continuum, that we don’t actually have a ruling class in any substantially meaningful sense.

But we damn sure do, and it really is about class.
It’s fucking always been about class.

Happy Solstice y’all. Be safe out there.

Hey, Tapper might be on to something, but it needs to go a step further. In government shut downs, furloughed workers shall be paid from the funds of the legislators responsible. It might still be chump change to them, but that they will notice.

Although I’m all for congress not getting paid when there’s a shutdown, I think it’s a mistake to frame the issue as “they should suffer the same consequences of their decision”. This shut down is firmly at the feet of the Extortionist in Chief.

In the Roket Administration, Jake Tapper would be transferred to Entertainment Tonight.

In a Sirius administration there would be NO shutdown. That’s just plain Lunacy!
