Little Kremlin-on-the-Potomac Update

Touched By An Angel, or at least a Fed.

Business Insider leads the morning with a pretty great summary of the importance of Prznint Stupid’s Stupidest Lawyer (sorry Rudy!) Mikhail, er, Michael Cohen’s guilty plea:

  • Michael Cohen’s lawyers revealed intriguing new details about President Donald Trump in a new court filing this week.
  • Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress and is cooperating with the special counsel Robert Mueller.
  • Cohen’s lawyers say he was “in close and regular contact” with Trump’s lawyers and White House staffers in the weeks before he lied to lawmakers.
  • They also revealed that Cohen is cooperating with a mysterious “separate open inquiry” conducted by the New York attorney general’s office.
  • When he was breaking campaign-finance laws at Trump’s directions, Cohen’s lawyers say he kept Trump “contemporaneously informed” of his actions.

The big news in that, of course, is the separate open inquiry. If the state takes down any of the players there is no pardoning. Marcie Wheeler has an interesting take on that: MIKE PENCE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PARDON THE TRUMP ORGANIZATION.

It’s a great read with good sources, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she has the end game outlined.

I’ve been sayin this all along – the multiple crimes that committed in New York State will garner them a far greater punishment than could be meted out at the Federal level, and they could only be pardoned, or have their sentences commuted by the Governor. And since Andrew Cuomo happens to be occupying that position for the next few years, until well past 2020, methinks the hijinks will soon come to an untimely end, and the perp-walks and jail talks will commence forthwith.
And it’s certainly appropriate that Hair Furor favors the color orange, as that is the most common color of jail jumpsuits.

Also, too – NY State’s asset confiscation and forfeiture laws will pretty much determine that the various properties the tRump (crime) family own there will soon undergo a transfer of ownership. And I’m willing to bet a buttload of Quatloos that the state will run them at a profit, and will likely NEVER have to declare bankruptcy, or suffer the indignity of stiffed workers filing multiple lawsuits, just to get paid.

So Trump might vacate asset forfeiture rules with an Executive Order or lose all his stuff in NY – either way has a positive side.

    • Uhh do not discount Andrew “Sure I’ll happily work with those rat bastard DINO’s caucusing with the R’s to keep control of the State House” Cuomo deciding to fully embrace his (not so) inner Republican and pardoning Trump and all concerned ‘for the good of the country’ or some such fucking nonsense…

do not forget: ONLY Democrats must ever pay the price of their transgressions. IAOKIFYAR!

      I think it’s Amendment Eleventy-Seven of the Constitution…

So Trump does crimes, his family does crimes (and his associates do crimes) and his corporations do crimes. The Corporate criming, if prosecuted, will be the bite in the butt from pretending to put them in blind trust but not really, along with dragging in the kids that were supposedly running the Corporation as a blind trust.
Then there is the “charitable” Trump Foundation – charity begins at home and, since in the Trump universe Trump is the only real person, charity also ends there. Everyone else is a Loser!

It behooves us to remind the republicans that whatever power they choose to bestow upon their glorious leader will also be bequeathed to the next Democratic President.
