Saturday Palate Cleanser

Our Hero.

OK, this isn’t exactly a cat-attack video, or a saintly Golden Retriever being saintly, or even a bird being a jerk (and birds are jerks), but it should make every reader of this blog happy:

Coming to the Sundance Film Festival:

Raise Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins / U.S.A. (Director: Janice Engel, Screenwriters: Janice Engel, Monique Zavistovski, Producers: James Egan, Janice Engel, Carlisle Vandervoort) — Molly Ivins was six feet of flame-haired Texas trouble, a prescient political journalist, best-selling author and Bill of Rights warrior. She took no prisoners, leaving both sides of the aisle laughing and craving more of her razor-sharp wit. It’s time to Raise Hell like Molly! World Premiere

Anyway, that means that sometime in the next year, The Life & Times of Molly Ivins will probably have a theatrical release!

Hell, I’d rather see Netflix pick it up – it would be seen by a vastly larger audience.

I miss her so much. It’s piss she died so soon. And, as they say, and is true, DickFucking Cheney still lives (with a young man’s heart), and all the assholes surrounding WBush and dRump and all the fucking Republicans everywhere and evil in the world. Damn, life is not fair. At least we had her for a little while, and thank dog for that.

  5. I got to see Ivins speak way back in 1992 or 1993. She had been honing her Ross Perot impression which was savage and spot on. Good god, what she would have to say if she was still with us.

Regarding her “return”: O HAPPY DAY!!

I miss her, too. She was a genius.
It’s maybe for the best that she missed the Trump reign of terror. The rapid stream of terrible news during his term might have overworked her to death anyway.

I think my favorite quote from her is, “Next time I tell you someone from Texas should not be president of the United States, please pay attention.”

Here’s a collection of her best:
