Jordan did not win his match against CA Rep. Kevin McCarthy to become the GOP Minority Leader (self-cancelling phrase if ever there was one!), so to the showers with you, Gym!
A rumor yesterday was that Prznint Stupid said that Jordan be given the position of ranking member of the Judiciary Committee (you know, where impeachments start!) in return for dropping out of the race for minority leader.
Prznint Stupid knows less about gubmint than the average 7th grader: The minority leader does not appoint ranking members.
Tiger Beat on the Potomac takes the bait (idiosyncratic emboldening and capitalization, as always, is theirs):
THE NEXT REPUBLICAN CHALLENGE … OHIO REP. JIM JORDAN,who was trounced yesterday in his bid for minority leader, seems to be aiming for Judiciary chairman. HOUSE FREEDOM CAUCUS CHAIRMAN MARK MEADOWS (R-N.C.) said yesterday that Jordan deserves the ranking member slot on judiciary. He also has to run for that position — it’s a decision made by the steering committee. GEORGIA REP. DOUG COLLINS has been working that vote for a long time, and many believe he has it locked up. Jordan is next in line on Oversight and Government Reform, but again, that’s something he’d have to win.
